Default Seibon carbon fiber vented hood?

So I’ve had my ISF for a while now but lately I’ve been starting to think about buying the carbon fiber hood from Seibon with the vents on both sides. For those of you who have it, how is the fitment of it? Do you have any water leaks in the engine bay from the exposed vents? From what I’ve heard, the engine bay releases the heat through the vents allowing the motor to cool down quicker than a stock hood.

It's expensive, maybe looks cool, but the venting is highly questionable. There's a topic about this already, I suggest you search for it and give it a read.

We did not reach a consensus on how much it cools. It’s all speculation.

It definitely keeps the engine cooler. You can see the heat leaving the vents, the hood temps don't reach above 4 bars when driving it hard through canyons while it does with the OEM hood.

Water won't damage your engine, it flows through the sides.

well dangit. My car heat soaks like mad while staging, but I don’t like carbon hoods on this platform.

I’m curious to as in how the water would flow through the sides of the hood as what Meraki Autoworks said above

what he means is that the water that come through the holes runs on the sides of the engine, no harm whatsoever. I've been running this hood for 2 years now and i live in sweden, the rain pisses down here, almost like in england lol

The engine is covered in plastic too to let water flow over.

Undecided yet on paint or just leaving it. Have all winter to decide now as mods pile up and car sits in hibernation

What are the hood temps? We have a sensor for that? I'd like to get a better idea of what temps we're talking about here.

^ I believe he's referring to the Engine Oil Temp bar on the dash
