Default Buying Advice

I'm looking to buy an 2008 IS F, the one I like has 35,000 miles and priced at $30k. It's in the middle of the bluebook window.

There are a couple other 2008 models I found that are decent as well. One was dealer owned the entire time, carfax certified one owner but the show's owner changes on the carfax which might just have been getting registered in different states if the person moved around. I'm guessing it was probably driven by family of the dealership. It has around 75k miles and is about $26k.

The other car is also a 2008 with similar miles, but has had 4 owners. About $26k.

None of the cars have a reported accident that has been advertised.

I don't buy alot of cars so I'm looking for a warm fuzzy before I buy something.

Thanks.

I just bought mine 2008 ISF and you can read through the post I had on this forum. I purchased with 24,800 otd with 84k mile, 2 owners, clean carfax. I think I had a great deal. One thing I would suggest is to make sure the car has all the maintenance record up to date to protect yourself from repair. With my luck i just had to replace a battery which ran me about $170. Good luck

I picked up an '11 with 50k miles for $32.5k.
That '08 sounds a little overpriced to me.

I’d pay the extra 4 grand for half the mileage. It is the going rate for low mileage Fs. Some people get luckier... some wait for years and don’t. Buy it and don’t look back.

4 owners is scary.... no owner is even scarier. God knows who drove it, but they didn’t own it so why care.

I paid 37k for a 2012 45k miles, with the red full leather interior last year. 30k for a 08 just seems like a lot. Especially when its one of the least desirable year.

I agree with previous replies that $30k is pushing it for a 2008. (I've had a 2008 for 5 years or so)

If your budget is $30-$35k-ish it would make sense to specifically look for a 2011 or newer, as the suspension was updated and is significantly less firm. Also differential and other upgrades, but the suspension is the biggest one I'd consider. I just love my 2008 too much to consider selling it...

I wouldn't pay more than $25k for a 2008 and would look for one with around 75k miles, clean title, 2 owners max, etc. between $20-25k.

I agree with above people. I would not pay 30k for 2008 car in 2018. These cars have no issues getting up in mileage so save the money and either get a higher mileage for $25-26k or use that extra cash to splurge for 2010-2011 with the upgrades.

Also, why are so many people selling their Fs? I was just deciding to sell mine too. hah
