Disappointing dyno day FBO tune ISF
I finally got around to dynoing today.
6th gear, sport mode, rr tuned intake box open with fan directed at it.
mods:
ppe headers
rr tune and intake
full 3inch custom exhaust catless with x pipe
joe z elbow
results:
385hp/368tq
Any ideas what could be holding back the car from the 400+ that everyone else is hitting?

should have dyno before bolt ons, then after imho. Thats what I'm doing. I'm also taking it to the track after every mod i do.
so far stock i dynod 348whp, and ran 12.7 1/4 at 112mph. just installed borla exhaust so now I will be going back to track and dyno it see the gains.
i think you should go to the 1/4 to be honest. If you trap over 115mph and run below 12.5 then your mods were useful imho.

I wouldn't be too worried about the numbers honestly. I've found out that the ISF is SUPER finicky on the dyno if it doesn't see the right conditions. Example I dynoed my car when it was stock and it put down 357 whp and then after when I put on the Borla exhaust and I think I lost 5 hp lol..........
After that and researching here on CL I've come to the realization that this car doesn't like dynos like some other dyno queens and it doesn't mean that your not making north of 400+ whp because you are!
There is no way to simulate road speed at 60 mph+ with some of these fans that these shops use, and I think that's one of the problems with the ISF and it's computers that pull timing if they don't see something equivalent with IAT at higher speeds.
Trust me I was disappointed too but I soon got over it and have never went back to the dyno and I'm FBO and honestly don't care to see what I'm putting down. I know that my car is pretty fast for what it is in it's current state of tune based on the wins I've had down in Mexico every weekend. I've raced over 75+ cars at least over the past year since being FBO and although I don't win every race the ones I do win validate that the car is putting out what it's supposed to when RR engineered the tune for the associating mods
Just my 2c

With current mods my best is 12.5x with 114/116.

Generally people expect 400+ with those mods so I understand why OP is disappointed. True a baseline should have been done and there are variables that affect dyno results. But with many cases of 400+ on that set up, it is hard not to expect the same or something near it for your own car.

One thing I've noticed with my FBO is that it's very sensitive to the quality of the gasoline. What octane were you running? If it's 91 oct, you may want to run a small amount of E85 to bring up the octane a bit. I believe people have had good luck with mixing about 3 gallons of E85 with a full tank of premium gasoline to make the FBO tuned F's run like they are supposed to.

agreed. Those are solid gains that you're putting down. It's always the delta that matters.

Well last time I did my Dyno with PPE Heades and Joe-Z exhaust I got 370whp, was very disappointed and a few weeks later I had to change my exhaust to OEM one and found I had a decent exhaust leak in the header/exhaust connection area.

Actually it's all about trap speed. Times are driver dependent and only matter if you are concerned about winning a race. Trap speed tells you everything you need to know about horsepower. Higher speed, more horsepower. Lower speed, less horsepower. You also need to normalize based on density altitude because nothing is more important than the air pressure available to the engine. It is what boost is all about, and even boost is ambient air pressure dependent.
It surely makes sense to check everything and be sure you don't have an intake or exhaust leak hurting your numbers, but dyno numbers are only as good as the tester. From all indications, you did see a pretty impressive gain even if you didn't see the 400+ number you were expecting.
And peak engine torque numbers are meaningless. I have no idea why anyone bothers posting engine torque numbers because engine torque does not move your car, horsepower does.
