Default Supercharger Install Questions and Price

Any one know of a spot in Houston that can install the IS-F supercharger and how much $ should I expect to pay for install?

I've allocated about 12k$ for the supercharger in parts, I'm hoping install isn't more than 20%.

Why don't you send Rafi from RRRacing email and ask him how long the installation should take. Speak to different shop's get there hourly bill rates to get a rough idea of what the price should be.

Try Daniel Harness at icar Houston. He's worked on many GT-R, STI, Evo, gt500's . Overall hundreds if not thousands of cars over the past 10 years. If he can't help you he can point you in the right direction.

This is his cell phone. +12818548403. I plan to go to him when I get my super charger as well.

I wanted references, after market shops can be really really shady sometimes even if their $ is reasonable

I would definitely try Europower. There are so many awesome shops in Houston, I wouldn't care too much if they have worked on an ISF before, tbh. But Europower has done header installs before and miscellaneous work. I would definitely get quotes from shops that specialize in American cars too.

Should I just get a GT-R or C63 and renntech the turbo? Is the boost on the RR s/c increaseable? I envy those who had supra's with turbos, although however saggy the chassis might be, how much fun it must be to hear that turbo blow

If you just want to go fast, get a GT-R. an ISF will never be as fast as a GT-R no matter what people say. And this is coming from a Toyota die-hard fan boy.

Well, from '12-'16, the GT-R (stock) has been running 11.1 thru 11.4 1/4 mile times and trapping 120-124 mph. With the supercharger on the ISF, guys are doing 11.2-11.5 1/4 mile times trapping 128-130 mph...So with that said, the ISF supercharged looks to be slightly faster than a stock GT-R....With that said, a few light mods on the GT-R will change the game, lol.

No the boost on the Rotrex C38 is not increasable from what I've heard and can only be over driven by another 10% to keep with Rotrex warranty. Even then because of the high compression ratio of our motor RR has had to pull timing with the tune pretty good above 6k because of the knock they've encountered with boost.

Agree with what others have said, if someone really wants the ability to mod and tune with results past 550+whp then the GTR seems like the obvious choice at that point.

If you want big horsepower, then virtually any other manufacture's cars will work. Corvettes. GTR, BMW, Mercedes, pretty much any lol.

Just to sum up what everyone said so far, you're limited by the speed and volumetric efficiency of the supercharger. Can't increase boost without a pulley upgrade and dyno tune, and also have to take into account the engine's compression ratio.

In my very personal opinion, either go FBO on the ISF and leave it as is, or sell it and go with a different platform. With a custom twin turbo setup, plus fuel system upgrades and a manual boost controller, you can adjust boost on the fly, so whenever you feel like going from 600 hp to 1200, just hit a button and hold on...

Turbochargers spin hell of a lot faster than superchargers and can create WAAAAAY more power, at least in comparison to the 2URGSE motor.

On another note, turbocharging gets more expensive. You should check out Nelson Racing Engines and their Street packages for TwinTurbo V8's. 1000 hp on pump gas and 1200 on race gas. (Chevy small block platform)

As others mentioned, a GT-R is another platform that makes BIG power even with the factory turbochargers.

His stuff is insane. Nelson racing actually turbo charged a 1UZ-FE (GS). Just under 900 hp.
