2008 Retro to LED headlights
Yes, I am aware there are like 2564652651 threads on this. I know how to do the instal since there are some pretty good guides.
I am looking for someone who knows a solid source to get said lights from. The dealer wants $2200 for the pair which I think is WAY to much. I have heard about people getting them for $900 or so.. Im okay with used if they are in decent shape.
I have a blown seal on my stockers and need to replace it since it makes my car look like a old chevy lol.

There are slight variations in the newer LED headlights for the 2IS/ IS F. Some prefer having them repinned already so that the LED strip remains on. The bubbling seems to be a very small issue, though I haven't seen any issue with the 2013-14 headlights in that regard. I've rarely seen any for 900 for the set. Along with that, I would presume they wouldn't be preloaded, meaning there would be some things that needed to be transitioned over from the older headlights. It's not impossible to do, as I've helped others do it. But it is a hassle to swap.
Typically, I've seen them ranging from $1.5-2k for a fully loaded set, so no need for swapping. Best of luck!

I wouldn't recommend buying them from this seller on eBay due to my personal experiences...
Beware - eBay lexmaniac2 - Original Lexus Parts - LED Headlights
However there are usually options in the forum classifieds section. I would trust most forum members, in fact that is how I got my set. If you can find them for $900 you're extremely lucky. There are 4 ISF's local to me, and we all paid around $1500 for a used loaded set (or ~$1000 + trade for 08 oem lights).

Ebay and forum classifieds are probably the best place to look. Since Sewell does not offer them anymore, I'm not sure there is a source to buy pre-wired new 2013+ lights. Keep in mind that there are variations between 2011, 2012 & 2013+ LED sets - some don't have the "eyelashes", some have more chrome trim than black, etc. That can make it challenging to find a matching L & R headlight when looking through Ebay.
Also, the tabs on the top of the headlight can be replaced fairly cheaply, so if you find a set with a broken tab on the top do not let that discourage you. Often those go for significantly less and they only cost around ~30 to get a replacement tab through lexus.

Then my next question would be what periods have the chrome VS black (whether its high gloss vs the "matte" finish)
on McGovern's link/thread, looks like there is a chrome and black 2012 "versions"?
I was able to buy this one (looks black gloss to me) and would like to be informed on matching this light: http://www.ebay.com/itm/162380193302

It's pretty much a hit or miss with the guy. I took a chance ordered a used repinned set from him. Got it quick and installed with no issues. No mismatch or anything that warranted a complaint . Overall was very happy with them.

I was about to pull the trigger with this ebay seller until I read Zach's thread about the problems with this ebay seller. I recently bought a pair of Depo HL's from http://www.ebay.com/usr/spoonzauto?_...p2047675.l2559. They are made in Taiwan, not China. I am working on the parts swap. Repinning looks to be a nightmare.
