Haha. Ever hear of the difference between hardware and software? The hardware is clearly significantly faster in all of the vline2 videos ..... that’s because of the new hardware. It’s still running the same software (don’t know about firmware or what the splash logo means).

The first production build that was filmed was named 1111 just to fill the space. The build number you will receive is V2VL1.0.1.0.

This is helpful, thank you. I wanted to see the split screen which you showed in one of the videos and the functionality with the steering wheel commands. I saw in the last video how you can initiate a voice command by using the RTC mouse to push the microphone button on the VLine. And scroll to the next song with the steering wheel up/down button.

Is it possible to initiate a command by the steering wheel voice button? I would love to see more functionality from the steering wheel controls and less moving around to multiple apps. I realize these are short videos designed to show the improved load time of the apps, however for me personally I prefer to see real time functionality such as safely entering a voice command to a destination while driving and opening and changing a music app. Just those two things without background music and with someone giving instructions on what they are doing like a help video is more ideal to me for demonstrating how the product works. Thanks!

Steering wheel button doesn't work for voice commands through the Vline (at least not on an 07 LS460 - but I suspect it would be the same on all). The Vline uses a separate microphone from the stock mic. I'm not sure there'd be a good way to use the steering wheel control to activate the vline mic. Would all users want complete override of the stock mic? Is there an opportunity to change the behavior of the button based upon the input the stereo is in? I suspect this won't happen. With that being said, all of the other steering wheel buttons still work (track select up/down, volume, input changes, etc). It is easy to activate the voice control , too, without really needing to avert your eyes from the road.

long shot.. but would PdaNet+ app work? It lets you USB tether.

Grom,

Do have versions of these videos that are not sped up? It's hard to get a feeling for the system speed when you are using variable playback speeds.

P.s. Looking forward to getting my Vline soon!

For me, I am itching to get rid of my windshield phone mount. The holder rattles and is not the most astheticaly pleasing solution, but it works . Looking forward to keeping my phone in my pocket whenever I'm in the car .
