anyone getting the grom vline?

Do You have that from Grom?
If so, I will sell my unopened VL1..my 3rd one after the no.1 died, returned it to Grom, they did not find any faults and shipped it back with new wirings, still did not work in my 2008 LS600hL, shipped it back again and got a new VL1..and have not installed it, awaiting the promise that the VL1 I have could be updated to VL2 in the near future...
It has not been a pleasure 😔 with all the hiccups I have had with the VL1 and was really hoping that the VL2 would be close to 100% reliable in use...and available for updating on the VL1. Still hoping that Grom will give the VL1 buyers this option 😊

Appreciate your question. VL2 will be on presale once we secure all parts and production starts. It will have around 3x faster MCU and 2GB RAM on board. 5G Wifi with best in class Broadcom chipset. Same 16GB Flash for apps. All existing VL1 are upgradeable, you will only need VC1 module swapped with VC2. We will post upgrade instructions once the presale starts. Everything else is the same. All wiring, connectors etc.

I spent lots of money installing the VL1 in my 2006 Lexus IS350 since getting the harness cables routed to my glove box just wasn't happening before I lost my patience. I wonder if Grom could comment whether the harness cables from VL1 can be reused for VL2, so that I can do the upgrade myself rather than taking the car in again.

Yes this is still a plan. Once VL2 is shipped and production is steady we will offer VC2 module (swap for VC1) for tinkerers (advanced). All details will be announced after we start shipping VL2. Upgrade operation will require the good technical knowledge and certain assembly skills.

I use the Sirius app through CarPlay, not sure how the android Sirius app would work when run through the VLINE, maybe someone else has experience with that.

ISF 2014 support is coming soon, not yet compatible, but we are working on it.
