I don't brake hard enough? That's comedy. No, never heard it blip in any mode other than manual, and the documentation from Lexus does not support your assertion. Rev match is only enabled in manual mode.
Maybe my car is super special. Seems like I'm not the only one either.
Does my car go up in value because of this rare feature?
j/k
I have an 09, maybe yours an 08 without this feature.
Mine blips in manual only above 2000 rpm. I get a blip in auto/sports mode while braking as well. Though thinking about it, only while going down a hill. Maybe I haven't tried braking on flats in auto/sports.

I thought everybody's does this?

Imagination is a wonderful thing. Documentation dispels myths and subjective response. Read, learn, and stop thinking it blips. It does not rev match the way it does in manual, it rev matches the way any decent automatic does.
FOUND IT it does it in manual mode only and not back to 1 gear and it sound great. maybe i wasn't flogging it hard enough for 1 gear maybe on a race track still don't know about braking down hill cheers

Thanks Lobux for sharing that document. Read through it and saw this. Off topic but brings up a point. This is related to the issue where some folks could not get their ISF to downshift properly in corners at the track. So the ISF goes in to safe mode and will only shift at lower shift points when it reads low fluid temperature(which low level ATF would also produce the same symptom). Interesting, it also goes in to this safe mode when it senses low coolant level.

I can do the auto blip in manual and normal. Just go on a highway, drive about approx 130 kph, slow down by braking hard (like entering a corner) and drop to gear 3 or 4 and you can hear it.

Every automatic does that already. The blip is to match revs because the torque converter is locked in manual mode. It is not necessarily locked in auto mode, and it will unlock the instant you start braking. Ever feel the difference between lifting off the accelerator in manual mode vs. any of the auto modes? It's because the torque converter unlocks instantly in auto, and does not unlock at all in manual. It's the biggest reason our "slushbox" feels like an SMG/DSG.

Last night I was coming up to a light, M and Sport mode engaged, used paddles to do a 2-1 shift around 20km/h. It didn't blip to rev match, just kind of loaded the transmission and slowed the car (like if you downshift a normal automatic). Note that I'm not sure if the trans was up to temp or not.

Have any of you guys experienced this before?
I feel like anything under 2300 rpm the blip in manual is a dice roll if it happens going from 2-1 when coming to a complete stop. It either blips or its just a down shift and abrupt engine brake.
^That's kinda what I figured. Since I posted here, I read a few threads, and this seems normal. As you can see by my post count (or lack thereof) I'm new to the ISF owners club haha.
