Default XM Radio Issue

Hey guys, I tried searching as much as possible, but I haven't had any luck yet. In my '08 ISF, there is the AM-SAT button but when pressing it, the satellite doesn't work. This leads me to believe that the satellite tuner isn't installed in the car. I want to get it activated and working and came across this tuner at Best Buy.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/siriusxm...&skuId=8110015

I spoke to the install guy and he said he isn't sure if it will work. But one of the guys in the car audio department said it should work. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? Any help would be appreciated. I would love to just buy that and get it installed.

Thanks for the help!

No, that will not work. That unit is for aftermarket radios....I've installed a few hundred of them at my shop. Also, trust what best buy employees/installers say at best buy about 10% of the time....
But when you press the 'sat" button, can you hear the preview channels from xm/Sirius? If so, just go to channel 0 and get your radio ID number. You'll need to call 1 800 XMRADIO and follow the prompts to get service on your radio. Once they have your payment, they will send a signal to your radio and service will come thru (all the channels, not just preview) within minutes. Lmk if you need more help!

I don't have working XM in mine either but I believe this is what you should need to get it going. The button on the radio is just there in case you wanted to hook it up in the future if it wasn't an added option from the factory.
