Thanks Patrick.

So was the occupancy sensor in the base or the back of your seats?

Guess what I'm asking is where does the gel bag come out??

Maybe that ribbon wire is heating for the base part? Be interesting to see if you had it on your original seats mate.

Found one bolt to hold the seatbelt on.

Will take that to a junkyard near me to hunt for a second one.

Getting there slowly!

Ok, so mine is clearly different to yours Patrick.

Here I believe is my occupancy sensor. No gel bag, just these delicate pressure pads that were sealed into the bum foam area on the seat base.

Good news is I won't need half as much of the loom under my seat, provided it works of course!

Anyone able to confirm what's pictured is the occupancy sensor?

For anyone considering this, DON'T!

The OEM seat is toast, no way in hell you can do this without serious disassembly.

I'm not worried as I don't plan on reinstalling them, but for those that like to refit OEM parts prior to selling, I suggest you avoid changing your seats!

If you don't mind the SRS light, you can just swap the seats and leave it at that I guess.

I'm shattered! Had to build a garden shed with log store as well this weekend!

Hoping the drivers seat will go smoother now I know what's involved.

Going to get the loom and airbag delete fitted first to check there are no errors first on the passenger seat. Hoping there's an easy way to slip that sensor into my new seats!

So after a brief sleep, could the setup differ between the drivers and passenger seats?

Was the one you kindly photographed Patrick the drivers seat by chance? Just thinking there may be more on that one being the primary seat?

Still wondering how I'm going to get that ribbon wire into my new seat!

May speak to my contact at Cobra. See whether he thinks it's a DIY, or if they would help if I take the seat and sensor to them?

Busy few weeks ahead!

heres what my sensor looked like,

That's under my recaro,

but holy crap that is a lot of work to do that, Mine was no where near that bad. I wonder if Toyota does something different for the UK / RHD cars?

I didn't get around to checking out my seats on Saturday as I had more work than I expected. That's the issue with being the friend of the bunch with a tire machine and a lift I suppose.

Which seat is that though Patrick? Was there a difference between what you needed to fit/remove for the drivers seat versus the passenger seat?

I have a feeling I may encounter similar things to you on the drivers seat. The passenger one is relatively simple, but does mean you butcher the foam.

Hey Guys,

So having successfully installed my passenger seat, I managed to get the drivers seat in as well today.

Problem is my planted technology frame is way out on one side!

The frame is bolted in fine front and back on one side, but totally out on the other?!

Here's what I'm seeing:

Question is, did you have anything like this with your frames Patrick?! It's so weird and bloody annoying, as the passenger side fitted perfectly!

Going to send these photos to the guys I bought the seats and hardware from tomorrow. Hopefully they can help get this sorted.

Can't believe I'm so close, but it's all for nothing if I can't get this figured out! Who knows if I'll get it sorted in time for my photoshoot!

I think there's a jut out on awd models on the driver's side on US spec models. Not sure about when they put the steering wheel on the wrong side though...

Is it a one or two piece frame?

From the position of the seat belt mount, I'd say it's a right side US/EU passenger seat bracket pictured in post #34.

Cheers guys.

So annoyed! You just know they will try and say it's because my car is an IS-F, and the brackets were for an IS350. If neither bracket fitted, I'd accept that. Fact is passenger side went in perfectly!

That's why I didn't even bother test fitting the drivers side one before I bolted it to the new seat.

If they do say nothing we can do about it, guess I need to find someone to cut and re-weld the eyelets in the correct position?

Just fed up after getting so close to the finish line, only to find I'm way off still.

One piece.

You bolt the sliders either side of the seat, then bolt the frame to the sliders, and the frame to the floor.

Bracket has to be the right way round, as the seatbelt eyelet can only work this way around.

Peter, I hope those brackets weren't made in the good ol' us of a.

From your pictures they look to be well made from thick material. At least it shouldn't be too difficult to modify.

Think they are US built? Having removed the bracket, I tried aligning it again in the car.

Good news is three out of four can be aligned properly. Just the one at the front closest to the transmission tunnel that's wrong.

If they don't have a different design that fits, at least it's only one that needs cutting off and welding back on in the correct position.

Hopefully hear from the guys I bought everything from at some point today.
