In SC it's something like, if the repairs are valued more than 50% of the cars value... It's a total.

Did you not get GAP Insurance when you purchased your car? It covers the gray area between what you owe and what your paid. Ex: you pay 40k for an F, insurance offers 30k on the total loss... GAP insurance covers that 10k.

Good luck bud, keep us updated.

Glad to hear your brother is okay, which matters the most.

As for the car, it looks totaled to me. Insurance may cover it, but your premium might rise.

If book value on the car is approx $30k, this repair will easily go above $15k, unless you take it to Maaco.

Joe-- but if it doesn't get totoalled, this is a good opportunity to upgrade to the Seibon carbon hood and fenders... I have them in stock

I never used to get it either... I paid dearly on a Corolla. Since then it's a must have, for the cost. It would be great if your bank can support you, if you need it.

Every time I see a wrecked F it makes my stomach turn. Hope you get some good news, brother.

High speeds + wet roadways don't mix.

This thing is a write off... unlike any generic 2IS parts for these are; [near] IMPOSSIBLE to come across used - to cut down on repair costs. So you're off to the dealer for each and every 2$ clip.

My buddy took 3months to source parts for his '08 when he got it from the auction. Ended up being 80% sourced from the dealer...

Obviously parts are a LOT more abundant in the US, but it's still not that easy!

Sometimes I hate being right.!!!

Based on the damaged you described + pictures I knew they would not fix it...

It may end up at insurance auction for parts or salvage rebuild by people that do that kind of stuff for a living
