Congrats, what are your opinions on going from the newer IS350 F-sport to an older IS-F?
Congrats and welcome to the ISF club!! I was gonna ask this same question. Almost picked up a white 2014 350 myself but thought I'd give the F a shot and the rest is history. I love my ride but seem to take a second look every time I see a third Gen IS go by!!
I'm pretty excited about this car! I've been wanting one for a while. I actually had a 2014 IS350 F sport....sold it and got this ISF. Loving it so far!
It's a 2008 with 25k miles on it! Purchased from a retired dentist.
I was just wondering if there's any issues I should be aware of in the 2008s because I know first year models always has issues lol.
Congrats on the new ride. The car looks great but I may be even more biased. LOL! I also have a 2008 Mercury Metallic IS-F and previously owned an IS350. I also sold my 350 for basically the same reason you did,...the desire for more POWER! At the present time, my F has 46k miles on it and purchased it last November.
As other members suggested, you may want to physically check the Water pump for leaks. Mine was leaking so that got replaced soon after I purchased it. I've had all the recalls completed. When and if you get the ELF recall completed, make sure to pop the engine cover under the hood and check condition of the large wiring harness cover. They tend to crack or break apart and many of the service techs (IMO) just do a sneaky job of using electrical tape to hold it all together. Totally unprofessional! If that happens, demand a new one as I did or talk to the service advisor about this issue before the recall is completed and maybe they will replace it proactively when the recall is performed. There is a whole thread about the ELF recall so don't hesitate to check it out!
I'm still relatively new to the F so I've relied heavily on these forums and members whom have done a great job posting info helping pave the wave to get the most out of the F.
As one member suggested, the Figs or R&R Racing LCA Bushings are a good first mod, but another popular mod that don't break the bank that's easy to do or get done is the rear F-Sport Sway bar. Its much better than the stock one. I recently had mine installed and it really makes the car corner better.
BTW, it appears the rear rims are on the wrong sides. Common mistake!
Enjoy the F.

new 350 is nice.. but the ISF is a future classic.
and completely agree re the 350 tech, its nice and all.. but the ISF has everything you need and more..
Thanks! Yep, so far ISF is so much better to me than the IS350F.
