Yea I drove that one last Thursday what did you think? It had the JoeZ exhaust on it if you didn't know.

Never mind I saw your other post comparing the two cars. But the reason the exhaust was loud and obnoxious was because of that exhaust being aftermarket.

I drove an M3 sedan, C63 AMG and the Lexus all at the same dealership I came from BMW headaches so that was the nail in the M3s coffin. The lexus reliability and rarity really helped and my wife was all about the Lexus as well. If power wasn't a concern the G37 or Q50 what ever they call it now would have been a serious contender as well. If you are into modifying cars a BMW 335 should be given a look, they are more affordable than an M3 and M3 killing straight line acceleration is a few mods away. As said above get the 2010+ model personally I like the wheels on the 12up models so I look for one of those they have small nice improvements over the 08-09 models

BMW reliability scares me, especially the turbo models which are actually best for my altitude. I do like how they drive for the most part. I tend to keep my cars 10 years plus, so I don't want the worry or the headaches. I have a G35 manual trans car now. Owned since new, its stock and it's been extremely reliable and trouble free with regular maintenance. It felt fast at sea level when I bought it. Here, it feels a bit weak. Only replacing it because I'm bored with it. I'm confident I could drive it another 100,000 miles with minimal expense if I desired. As for mods, I have a dedicated toy/track car that is heavily modified. While I love doing that, I won't mod the car I depend on and the IS F would be my "daily" and not be modded.

Didn't know that. I drove the car on Friday. Its the reason I'm still pursing an IS F. It drove really well and I enjoyed it. When I mentioned it seemed loud to the sales lady, we sat in and started up an 09 IS F they had on the lot as well to compare. Amazingly they had 2 IS F's on the lot of this CarMax. I didn't drive the 09 it as I wouldn't be interested in a car without the mechanical LSD as I will drive the car occasionally in the snow. They sounded similar at idle, but driving might have exposed a greater difference in exhaust sound.

The thread I started comparing the 2 cars, along with my impressions of the 2010 car is here:
