I have searched the forum and have found many DIY guides for the "Stripped" version of the Swell LED headlamp kit.
"Lamp set loaded - Seamless installation, all plug and play. All hardware, bulbs pre-assembled for a worry-free installation for the typical novice. Required for IS models factory equipped with Halogen Lamps"
"Lamp set Stripped - the economical option that does not include bulbs and ballast. Installation requires original ballast to be used and original bulbs.
I'm wanting to buy the Loaded version. Is this kit 100% plug and play or do i need to be prepared to do some cutting to make this work.
Its been several months since i have been on the forum.. Is black tape still the best option to cover up the annoying blinking light once i swap out the lights?
On a loaded set, the only thing you will need is to trim the old brackets on your headlights to work, I believe. Or you can order 2011+ brackets, which are 75 bucks a piece from Sewell.
Black tape is the only and easiest way to rid of the blinking ASF. I have done it for 4 cars so far and got pretty good at it. The whole process takes me about 10 mins now.
