I'm a horrible story teller, but impressions so far of the GT-R: Buttons, lots of buttons! The GT-R has more leg and head-room than any other car I've driven. One of my biggest frustrations with the ISF was the drivers seat. I don't like the feeling of my hair grazing the headliner constantly as I drive, or having the seat reclined back further then usual. The sight line for me in the ISF was basically where the headliner meets the windshield, sort of annoying. The seat in the ISF has very poor lumbar support and location. It was not designed for taller drivers. The GT-R has headroom for days, not having a sunroof helps this cause I'm sure. With the seat all the way back my legs (I'm 6 foot 3) are stretched all the way out. The seat is well bolstered but I found it very comfortable for my 3 hour drive home. When I got to the dealership with the Lexus yesterday, I was extremely sore, limping around the dealership (arms were tired from the lack of power steering, but thats another story).

The GT-R seems to feel more like a cockpit, the my eyes line of site pierce directly through the middle of the windshield. First driving impressions: Man it feels fast, the G forces are very apparent. I do miss grabbing gears 7 and 8, 6 just feels inadequate. I was surprised to feel all 4 tires scraping for dear life with full throttle in 1st and 2nd. As I've read and people have mentioned, lots of mechanical noises. I drove a few GT-R's, this one had fewer harsh noises and better ride then some of the other ones I test drove. 1st gear can be a little rough, its not as smooth as the ISF in the lower gears. However, I was surprised at how smooth the manual shifting was in the GT-R. I have not tried it in race mode yet, but it does sort through the gears with little fuss.

The OEM runflats need to go. Very stiff and noisey, I believe after I get these swapped out the car will be a little more compliant. I am very surprised at how quick, sensitive, and direct the steering is. It is going to take me a while to get used to the car grabbing and pulling on everything on the road, it seems to wander.

The ISF was never intended to destroy the nurburg ring. Like I said above it does a lot of things well. The 4 doors will be missed at times. The PPE headers/JOE Z exhaust will be missed the most You will be hard pressed to find a better sounding car. I will miss having all the windows down listening to that sound reverberate off the walls. Whomever purchases the ISF will have a nice surprise finding out they have PPE headers already installed.

Bunch of ramblings, off to go clean the engine bay on the GT-R.

I think I understand what you're saying but I don't agree. It's a natural thing to compare and contrast current/ former car.

Op - nice GTR. Enjoyed reading about your first driving impressions on the Nissan compared to the Lex.

Sad you got rid of the ISF, but that's one heck of a replacement car. Nice work.

I agree. I like reading about the views people have on different cars. The F is my first real sports car. I have test drove the gtr before and liked it...but I always wanted an F do that's what I went with.

A previous post inquired about my driving impressions. The above are my driving impressions. No regrets here. In the GTR you sacrifice a few things, that obvious. It's also obvious you gain quite a few things!

Had a great day cleaning it up, installing LED's here and there, and driving the GT-R. It feels very good to get comfortable with it. It feels good to be extremely excited over a car again.

Nice purchase. Its funny though when people compare the 2 cars and say the GTR is better. The GTR better perform better for how much more it costs lol. Its like comparing the ISF to a Z06, not even close to the same.

I think its fun to compare because it really shows the ISF is a great car.

However, as I have posted in the past on this forum before I had a GT-R, I think its silly to compare the two and take it seriously. They were both built for very, very different purposes.

Congrats on the purchase Sean. It's a completely different car and I'm sure you won't miss the F much. I seriously looked into getting a GT-R but I need to have at least one manual car so I passed on it.

Enjoy it in good health.
