Borla Cat-Back info on 2012 F
I just spoke with Borla on the cat-back for my 2012. They have never installed their cat-back on a 2012; only 2008 - 2011. They can't claim it will fit. The other think I didn't realize (being a newbie) is that a PPE header, Borla cat-back combo means I will be completely catless. A couple of questions:
If i have this combo installed; how do I keep CEL from happenning?
Has the suspension changed such that the Borla system will not fit?
Should I have the exhaust modded to fit cats right after the headers?
My PPE headers have just shipped and am trying to make a decision on exhaust. This may have been covered before but can't find it.
Thanks for all help.

The PPE headers come with an O2 conditioner that prevents a CEL as far as I know.
Cant give you a firm answer on the exhaust, I dont think anything changed from the 2011 though.

CUTigers is correct, the PPE headers ship complete with an o2 Conditioner that fools the ECU. You will have no issues if it is installed correctly. The Borla will fit your F just fine.
The answer to you last question, is I certainly would, but it's up to you. I have Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats. on my system.

FD3SISF,
Thanks for the info.
Does the lack of all cats make the exhaust stinky? If it does a little, can you smell it in cabin while you are idling at a light?
Thanks.

It definitely smells strong on the outside when sitting at idle, strong enough that I wouldn't recommend leaving it sitting running in your garage even with the door open. But I haven't noticed any smell inside the cabin aside from the first 10 days or so after I had it installed.
