PPE Headers + JoeZ Exhaust Question
Hey guys
I've had my F for about 2 years now and have been a lurker on the forums for a while now . I recently got my PPE Headers and JoeZ Exhaust installed, and I am loving the extra power and sound. I did have a few questions maybe someone would be able to help answer.
1) The CEL came on, so I am assuming the shop did not install the o2 sims properly. I also got the RR Racing tune (which I haven't installed yet), and they recommended installing the tune to turn off the CEL. If the tune turns off the check engine light, will I still be able to pass the state inspection in Texas? I know Texas only does the ECU check and does not do a smog test, so I am hoping I would be good with the tune.
2) The shop also said they could not fit the 2.5" PPE High Flow Cats with the PPE headers + JoeZ catback. Would a smaller 2.25" cat fit? I was thinking the Magnaflow ones. Has anyone with PPE Headers + JoeZ Exhaust done cats? If so, where would the best place to install it be?

I’m in DFW — Got it done at a place called AutoScience in lewisville. They seemed to have worked on a few IS-Fs. Ask for Ryan, he was pretty helpful.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the tune doesn't adjust the values of the a/f that get ready by the ECU. Instead it disables it leaving them in a "not ready" state to prevent the CEL. I believe guys in socal where failing their inspections because of this and had to use the ppe sim to pass since the sim gives out an actual voltage reading that the ECU can read and will be in a "ready" state.
