USB at Autobahn again...
^^ What makes you assume I got rid of it? What did mama say about assumptions...eh?
It's going into the shop to get some carbon fiber enhancements and some TLC due to lots of scrapes. Additionally, the stock bumper provides much better brake cooling than my Artisan Spirits front bumper at the track. There you have it, facts.

So this is my 3rd time at the track, still on my stock pads (just replaced with project u after this track event). They might be dusty, but they are good pads! I can see how scary it is to not have brake confidence as you speed into a corner, waiting for the very last second before you brake. I can say with 100% confidence that our stock brake pads are the real deal, even towards the end of the day, they were biting just as hard! Brake dust is a small price to pay for such performance.
As for the transmission, I can't say that there was anything abnormal during the day long event and then after. There was about 5-7 sessions for the day with each one lasting about 20 or 30 minutes (can't remember). I was in 3rd and 4th gear the whole time. Down shifted into 3rd for a corner and exit. Then on straights upshift to 4th gear when approaching 3rd gear redline. On the longest straightaway, I was actually at 110 which was near redline was forth gear. Just dealing with 3rd and 4th gear only made it super simple and easy. So it was basically 1 click up on the righ paddle or 1 click down on the left paddle. Talk about life in the powerband and dancing near redline, the power was great! Because of this, i thought the transmission was fantastic, as it made shifting super easy! D
In all 3 events I've attended, 1st timers even, were killing the corners with AWD Evos and STIs. They were hard to keep up with.
Thanks, I have a few more cool shots. Just need some time to upload...
Thank you!
Thanks. It's just a simple cheap $250 Simpson with a $50 tinted visor. And please everyone do yourself a favor and don't get black. It might look cool in real life, but in pictures it looks dull since your interior is already dark, it just blends in with the interior. Plus, it can get damn hot due to absorbing the sun. White makes you look like the stig...
Give Fizz Autosports Chicago a call. Thats where I got my C-West lip.
It's much easier than you think. The only prep work I did was to take it to the dealership and told the guy, to make sure my brake fluids are full, no air in my brake lines, change my engine oil, and do a visual on my brakes. That's it! My friends brought a generator to power the air compressor that we used to spray off the brake dust from our wheels. So which car do you think had the most brake dust? My friends were like
at the black clouds of brake, as I was spraying each rotor hole....hahahaha!
Yeah, I believe not only was this red EVO a good track car, but he had good experience b/c he was very good!
Thanks, it gets more awesome each time. It is addicting!
We have to go together one of these days Alex!
The F was born at Fugi Speedway. It was meant for the track. A travesty to own the F and not have fun with it at the track.
For sure ToothDoc. Always have a good time with MVP. Mark is a good guy.

Psyched to see "PurduePete" as someone's handle. A fellow Purdue alum, no doubt? I'm an '04 BS-Civil Engineering. Isn't Purdue Pete one of the scariest looking mascots out there though? Old Gold and Black should really do something about that...
It's awesome reading that the ISF is a track monster. I'm also a track enthusiast, so I'll be following this thread quite closely.
I'll probably need a few pointers here and there, so I apologize in advance!
Boiler Up!!!

Whoa, a NukE from Purdue? You guys were the smartest engineers on campus at a school known for engineering. Props to you! Glad to see you're enjoying the fruits of your labor.
When you track, I'm sure you're using your paddles... What's the best way to get used to the F's behavior and gearing for track focused driving? Just experimenting on the streets? Is there a particular downshift you've found that unsettles the car a little more than others?? I've never driven a performance auto gearbox, so sorry for all the questions!

Most tracks you'll only use gears 2-4 and maybe 5 at the really long straights. Autobahn is really a 3-4 gear track. 60-120 mph most of the time.
So you slam on the brakes and while doing so, hit the left paddle once. Not much to it. Rev matching works great and since you are slamming on the brakes while going straight, car doesn't get unsettled. A few times I ended up braking a little late and the rear end starts to slide out - I guess they call that trail braking?
The only jerky downshift is the 2-1 but you'd never use it on a track and don't even need to do that ever on the street either.

At VIR I got up to 6th gear and 140 mph on the front and back straights. I would stay in 3rd most of the time. I would shift to 4th on some turns where I didn't need as much torque. However, at the oak tree turn (RIP) I would downshift to 2nd to get the most power out of that tight turn.
