I'm certainly glad they're keeping the IS-F around, but with the abysmal sales figures for the current MY and the RC-F coming, I can't understand why. I think they would be better to just skip a year or two to renew interest. If people aren't buying 2013's because they're waiting for the next gen, they're certainly not going to be swayed to buy a 2014 because of LED foglights. They're still going to wait.

What I don't understand is the price increase. I bet the next gen model will cost even more!...
Or lexus will release a new ISF and price it the same as the 2014 and claim that they were able to release a new model without increasing the price.

I'm all for having them go up-market. People will always perceive the brand as a budget/value leader if you keep undercutting the competition when in fact the end product stands on its own and then some.
ISF is a legit option in the super small sedan space today. It's time for the RC-F to be crowned king. There's nothing like Toyota engineering. Love it.

Well it look more and more like there will be NO IS-F it makes no sense that they would give up this entire segment of sport luxury sedans up, it's most affordable in entry level super saloon class and once they have built rep, sales would increase and probably account for large portion of sale in that market much like M3 for BMW. Got figure they sell 10x as many M3 as they do M6. Lexus is new kid on block they have to prove to enthusiast out there they have some history of true performance and not just rely on reliability as selling point since its obvious that people that purchase BMW, Merc's are not that concerned with reliability they all know what they get when buying one and are willing to give up some reliability for performance. Considering when most owner of these types of vehicles, don't keep for more than few years anyway.
I'm not say lexus should give up it reliability just to sell cars but they need to be know as company that produce true performance vehicles. It would be sad to see Lexus not produce the FIRST true F car anymore IMO its mistake. So that leaves RC-F rumored to be 460hp on GS platform, hp # are ok but heavier GS platform not so much and if this car is heavier than current ISF then they miss boat on that one. That would put RC-F against Audi RS5 or even depending on weight M6 and if in heavy weight class M5/6, E63 AMG it would be way underpowered to compete in that class.
All this is just my own rants maybe they will produce RC-F first to be followed by ISF sedan or GSF sedan only lexus knows. But if Lexus just want to move cars then the whole F-sport thing makes sense they will sell by far 20x or 30x more f-sport vehicles then true F's and in order to get general public to purchase F-sport they have to give them something to aspire to thats when F cars come into play they have power, performance and prestige but at much higher price point. But if you purchase F-sport you get the illusion of same thing all be it at lower price point which in turn accounts for higher sales numbers. Lexus is really pushing F-sport concept and it working just look at their sales numbers. Not to say the new GS F sport or IS350 F-sport haven't improved and are much sporty cars than previous models but they are both No where near ISF and will never be but if point is to sell car then its working.
Only time will tell let me shut the hell up already I'm whining like 2yr that needs his blinky
