Hi All,

I believe that it was lobuxracr (lowbux, please correct me if I'm wrong) who stated in a thread somewhere on this site that the 2012 IS F actually beat the M3 on 2012 VIR during the Lightning Lap but I can't find this in my searches. I have seen the 2011 VIR where the 2011 IS F had the exact same time as the M3 (coupe with the new sport package) and both were faster than the c63 amg. Anyone know where I can find this info? By the way I had an '09 IS F that I traded in for a '12(both SPW in color) because the '12 really does have better handling, ride, etc.

This would be news to me. I don't recall seeing the IS-F running in the 2012 Lightning Lap, and C&D usually only re-runs cars if there are significant changes or options to the car. Would love to see this if it exists.

Yes I heard about that also, but I dont know where to find the actual lap times.

True in 2011, the IS-F and M3 coupe had identical times of 3:05.4 and I'll research 2012 to see what I find.

I can't find any information for 2012 to include either the IS-F or M3 as having run.

I'd like to know this as well. I ran a best of 2:21.096 on the VIR full course. I would love to do the grand course to compare my times and driving skill.

I remember the news about the 2012 ISF being like 3 seconds faster than the M3 at VIR.
