why would you do that? You might as well get a Borla and save yourself $700 if you're going straight pipe with an exhaust

These all sound great. What kind of impact does removing your secondary cats and mufflers have on your smog test? Also, how much did it cost to modify?

I just want to know if anyone with this setup has dyno'd their car yet because I'm interested to see what kind of gains this gets you. I'm buying exhaust here in the next few weeks (likely Borla) but if you still get 10hp or so just by removing these it is real tempting to spend a couple hundred vs $1000.

I'm assuming you lose power in the low end but make gains on the high end ?

Go to a reliable welding place and it will run a few $100. Most of the time here in NY if you aren't throwing a CEL you will pass inspection. I passed just yesterday with my setup. NY doesn't do visual checks or smog, but I see you're in CA, they may not let you pass without mufflers.....unless you know somebody

My butt dyno doesn't feel any power loss anywhere. If anything I would think it's faster because the car lost some weight and the restrictive mufflers and secondary cats are removed. But I really can't tell. Sounds amazing. If you are planning to do headers in the future, I'd suggest a custom exhaust with mufflers OR aftermarket exhaust, otherwise the car will be unbearably loud with no mufflers + headers.

with cat and muffler delete you get more weight reduction than bolt on exhausts.
less weight = more speed

I just delete my 2nd cats, kept the resonator and deleted the mufflers and it sounds great! I love it, drone is minimal but im also coming from an evo x with straight pipes, no cat, or resonator so this setup is tame but beastly sounding. After the resonator before the y pipe split i just had the shop weld a dump pipe. Very simple and similar to the op's setup. Cost me $200 from a local shop i always go to

Its definitely noticeable! The sound was great! In my opinion but after awhile I wanted more low end. Truth be told, just go aftermarket when ready. This way you'll get to keep your low end, plus have sound!

Ditto. That's what I'll be doing. Just don't know which one to get yet. The sound definitely outweighs a slight loss at the low end!

Lose power from removing the muffs? Interesting.
