Nationwide IS F Only Meet
Please discuss
I was on Acurazine and saw that they're having their nationwide meet next month. Figured we should get to the talking part of this to figure things out and see if there's enough interest?

VJ and I were kicking around this topic with a few others in the East Coast meet thread (I think you were in those conversations too, weren't you?)
I think the idea is fantastic in theory, but very difficult to pull off with success. Very few people, even those that love to drive, have the time or patience to do a 2000mi round trip excursion for a day of picnics and socializing. Somewhere around Texas or Kansas would make the most sense from a geographical standpoint, but how many people from NY/NJ, Florida or California (where the majority of F owners probably are) are willing to make that trip? A dozen? Two dozen? Probably less than what each of the coasts were able to get together in our meets earlier this Spring.
I agree though, let's gauge interest and see what we can come up with. My feeling is that we're probably better hosting a big East Coast meet and a big West Coast meet, and then let the Midwestern and Southern ISF owners figure out which one makes the most sense to them to attend.

I would probably have to take atleast a week off from work, since the estimated drive would be 24 hours each way (48 hours total). That's easily 4 days of driving, best case scenario 12 hours each day. Just putting it in perspective for the people planning to go. That would also mean a lot of 3M painters tape to tape up the front end. If I were to do this, I'd need at least one other co-pilot. It would be cool to stop at famous landmarks along the way, as another ISF owner did (infinus, I believe?), and document it with pics/video.
With all this said, I'd say MAYBE!

Lexfest is lame...you know those damn BMW fan boys will go nuts about it just like how they go nuts about our fake exhaust tips. M Fest is this weekend.
Shipping a car costs a lot of money...the whole point in this is the drive, the cruise etc. Do none of you ever think about traveling the country...seeing all the famous American landmarks? Time to get out of the bubble people

Gotta knock a few landmarks off my bucket list. Last thing I'll do is go DRIVE to Vegas.....37 hour drive one way. I don't think I'll drive farther than KS. TX is also a stretch.
Dug up infinus' thread. He went to landmarks all over the country.....insane. My front-end needs a respray, so if I were to do this trip, I'd probably get it done afterwards.

M Fest has BMW M cars from many generations and many classes.
If you're isolating the IS-F idea then you'll get less than a handful of cars thatll show up outside of the Texas or central US.
This idea will only work if you get ALL Lexus vehicles involved, then maybe by luck you'll get just under half of the amount of attendance as M Fest.
IMO the general population of Lexus owners are not big of car fanatics at BMW owners.
