Not as severe but still a litte bit but that's probably just the crappy roads around southern Virginia.

Every now and then something intelligent comes out. It's rare...but it happens.

deemed as ......"Hood and Hatch supports" and listed under Body Hardware.

BTW this is a Canadian Warranty, yours may differ.

Thanks Sean...problem solved.

I'm happy to report.......

I just returned from the dealer....no problems, no questions asked...all covered under warranty, and they replace both sides, not just the faulty support side.

You're still under warranty? Was there a doubt they weren't going to replace it? Dealers pretty much want to do as much warranty work as possible so they get paid by Lexus. And they just say "we're taking care of the customer"

Its a Lexus Extra Care Protection (ECP) extended warranty, that's not quite like the new car one.

There is lots of stipulations, wear and tear clauses, that exempt Lexus liability....so you have to read the fine print carefully.

They even have different coverages on wheel bearings, for rear wheel and front wheel drive cars...so its not quite a slam dunk.

As an example my old OEM exhaust tip fell off, due to the bad tack welds...they would not cover this under warranty. My recent serpentine tensioner failure was also not covered, and there is even a TSB on it........Lexus Canada has some differences over the USA as well.

Got my replacements from an eBay vendor - liftsupports. Both trunk and hood. Fit perfectly. My hood struts died during the valve lash adjustment. I had to clamp the rod with vise grips to hold the hood open while I was waiting for the new struts.

Do you have the specific part number from this vendor? I looked and I didn't see any from that seller for the ISF. Mine blew out after the dealership left it up doing the valley plate leak.

NM - I think I found it - was this the one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qty-2-Stabil...item4d487fb216
