Happy 100,000 miles to my IS F...her name is Violet. She is currently 4 years, 6 months, 7 days old. :D

Gave her a full tank of Chevron w/ Techron. Tomorrow, she and my BMW will have a new friend to keep company in my garage. :D

damn dude, you ran the tank all the way down to almost the reserve gallons lol

Just F Me 03-25-13 02:58 PM

I had a busy sales day....was driving a lot today. Was running on the same tank of gas that I filled up on Saturday night. Drove to Huntington Beach, Dana Point, Santa Monica, West Covina, Corona, La Mirada, Orange, Anaheim Hills, Corona....then out of gas!

ISF4life 03-25-13 03:04 PM

Congrats ! now 400k miles to go ;):D:p

SPoon22 03-25-13 03:05 PM

Congrats!! Haha

Mrd916 03-25-13 03:15 PM

I would like to see an 08 or 09 M3 with 100k miles on it, then I would like to see service records on what it cost to keep it running all those miles

Just F Me 03-25-13 03:21 PM

I wonder how many miles this thing can go for until it needs a rebuild??? HMMM...

I think with the amount of miles 2ndGF drives back and forth between Socal & Arizona, he should catch up pretty quick. I put 42k miles on my 2008 IS F in the first year, and 58k in the last 3.5 years...

Not possible. We wouldn't be able to have a thread long enough to document all the problems. :D

RCM83 03-25-13 03:43 PM

Congrats and here's to another 100k. I bet she still runs like new too.

Threads like these make me feel better about putting miles on mine :)

anxiouz 03-25-13 03:44 PM

Congrats! Pretty amazing that these cars are so reliable.

vbb 03-25-13 03:48 PM

Nice accomplishment. Also nice to see you keep your car showroom floor clean despite driving over 20k mi per year.

jadu 03-25-13 03:50 PM

congrats! glad to see the IS-F 5L accumulate the miles

I think I mentioned this before...get off the forums and stop posting, and go drive that IS F of yours!

Damn 6000 miles...I racked that up in my first 2 months owning her.

lamar411 03-25-13 04:00 PM

Wow, congrats.

I know it says GA, but you must live in Alaska to only have 6k miles on your 08. Thats amazing.

Yes...I'm gonna ask Blitz_714 to see if he can get us a special VIP table at M Cuties. :D

ShadowISF 03-25-13 08:26 PM

Congrats on hitting 100k. :)

GriMan 03-25-13 08:28 PM

Wow!!! Congrats on the 100k. I remember you having tranny problem when your F had 82+k. Did you buy a new tranny or is it rebuild? Maybe im mistaken.

Hell yea! It better be in the back room, I heard thats where the magic happens!! BTW, too bad you couldn't make it to Dana Point, I drew the short straw with Nam and had to hold the benches and spots at 7:30am so I couldn't make it to Autobacs. Lets get a cruise going soon. Coastal? Hearst Castle?? We put that in the works b4 but it fell through.

Yep...that's me... I replaced the tranny at 87k miles. Lexus paid for half the cost of the tranny which was like $3800 for a rebuilt. In the end my repair costs was around $3500 with a rear main seal and water pump replacement.

I'm totally down for a cruise. Something about driving in a large group is really fun. If you're gonna drive to Hearst Castle, you might as well drive the rest of the 80 miles and fly through the costal area up PCH. I did it twice last time when everyone bailed on the midnight run that blitz_714 setup.

GriMan 03-25-13 09:16 PM

^^^ im down. Im like an hr away from Hearst castle. Let do it. :)

Let's incorporate the NorCal guys somehow into this. The OC, LA, & SD guys can possibly meet at a TBD location in Santa Monica and we can do the 240 mile drive to Hearst Castle. This can be a turn-around spot for those who do not want to continue north. Those of us who continue north can go to Big Sur, San Fran, Monterey???? lots of options... We had that feeler thread about Santa Barbara last time which would have been fun but that fell through. Do you want to start a feeler/interest thread while everyone is still excited from the BBQ cruise/meet??? Im down for whatever we decide on.

Just F Me 03-25-13 09:39 PM

I'm down to drive to Monterey to grab a really good bite to eat then head on back...lol.

GriMan 03-25-13 09:47 PM

There are a lot of spots in central coast great for cruising. SB, SLO, pismo, morro bay, hearst, monterey.

LexusNN 03-25-13 09:57 PM

Congrats on your milestone, keep it forever

Just F Me 03-25-13 10:18 PM

LOL....I've been going back and forth... I might keep it...I might not. I'm thinking about getting a 2010ish E63 AMG. But I'm also on track to get a Porsche GT3 RS next year....and if I get the E63 AMG...there will be no GT3 RS next year... I hate cars...LOL

I would wait for the GT3rs. Ive known a few people with E63s and none of them have kept the car for longer than a few years.

I would agree with the decision to get the Porsche, unless you plan on driving 25,000 miles a year like you have with your Lexus. If that is the case, I would get the AMG instead, or better yet, keep the Lexus. It would probably be a better car to commute that much in.

Just F Me 03-26-13 09:06 AM

If i get the GT3 RS next year, I will be keeping the IS F. I have a 1990 BMW 325i that I hope to put under the knife and install a e46 M3 engine, then that will be my DD. IS F will be the DD in the mean time. GT3 RS will be the weekend car...and I have a new toy that's coming today :D

GT3 as a weekend warrior and ISF as a daily is exactly what I'd want. I hope that is something you can work out! After a few more years my plan is either to sell or trade my ISF for the newer ISF or GSF depending on what is released and when, or keep my ISF and drive it in to the ground, and pick up some sort of P-car as a weekend warrior. A Cayman S is most likely, but a GT3 is still a possibility.

What's the new toy?

LexusNN 03-26-13 12:34 PM

Yes what's the new one???

CCColtsicehockey 03-26-13 01:00 PM

Congrats. Hopefully you have another good 100 or 200k depending on how long you decide to keep her. The expectation of being able to put this many miles on without issues is one of the primary reasons I went with this over an M3 or C63.

I will hit 95k by this weekend. New job location has me driving much less than last year or I would have hit it this past fall probably. Luckily that means my extended warranty will be around for a little longer.

Just F Me 03-26-13 08:42 PM

They're not the best pictures...but they'll have to do!

My new toy...2013 Triumph Daytona 675R. If you're wondering...yes...it's my very first motorcycle. And today, I rode it for the first time, and it's awesome. Life is different on two wheels...Yeah I know, it's a TON of bike for your first bike...be smart, ride safe, pay attention to those idiots out there, wear protective gear...etc...

What's not fair? That I have more miles than you? :p

Congrats on the new ride. Have fun and be safe. Time for some track days in ACS.

There's no comparison between bikes and cars. You have to learn a completely different set of rules to drive fast (I had a very hard time learning to drive cars fast after road racing motorcycles for some years), and just because a bike accelerates hard in a straight line doesn't mean you know what to do when the front end of your bike starts sliding because you don't know how to regain traction with your knee.

Be careful with the bike. Get proper training, or we'll be reading your epitaph because your ego was bigger than your skill.
