So I'm trying to remove the stock one. How do I disconnect the air bag connectors? The black and the orange ones.

There should be two clips holding them in place from the top (from memory I believe they're white clips)

You have to gently lift these clips up and away from the black and orange connectors, these clips do not detach from the connectors, they just release the clip and you should be able to pull the connectors out.
