There might be more but that doesn't mean that they actually do all the required or recommended things. One of the dealers said that the serpentine belt will be replaced and the other one didn't include the serpentine belt. One of them only does the oil change and spark plugs and the other one also includes the belt. That's the only difference.

Because if one goes bad and you have to change them . It's likely that you'll break one in the head if it's been there for 10+years. And the cost wille be way higher then

Some of the posts are a missing a REALLY IMPORTANT part of going to the dealership. The added cost of the dealership is for convenience !! I run my practice, have 2 kids, home, I hit the gym 4-6 times a week, and I run my own Facebook page, F THE TRACK. I honestly would love to learn how to work on my car when I retire and I have time to go to a tech program and actually work on my cars. In the mean time I pay the extra money for the convenience, time savings, oh and the rental of the 40-55k loaner car. I also like the fact that if there is an issue someone else will correct it and also give me another car to head to work in. It allows me to continue my extremely busy life seamlessly while maintaining my car, commuter, race car, and family car. Im willing to give some one an extra $200-$300 once a year at the major services as well as the the extra $60 every 5k at oil change intervals. Its all convenience. Time is money ( as cliche as that is ). Thats what you are ultimately paying for imho
Some people have more skill, technical knowledge, and are willing to make the extra time. I am not one of those. My life is too busy and I don't have the confidence to take apart a car that I drive the way I do.
