He replied "Yeah it's fast too." My rebuttal "When the light goes green wanna see how fast?" He then remarked "Sure what's that? A Lexus IS? Aren't those just grocery getters?" I said "IS F." He said "We'll see."

Light turns green; we tear off; I instantly get about a car length on him before I shift from first. I wanted to prove my point so before I shift I let off and let him get a car on me. I shift to second and start to easily walk him down. Before shifting out of 3rd, I was a half a car length ahead of him again.

We reached the next red light and he said "I guess that's not just a grocery getter." to which I replied with a slight smirk "Guess not."
Ah...an Italian snob... (An Italian can say that.) :

I am glad you made this post....a good friend of mine bought one and i got to take it for a spin when he brought it over. It was a VERY nice car, but it didn't feel faster then my F. We didn't race or anything, but just test driving it i wasn't blown away like i thought i would be. Not dissing on the car though, its a work of art

oh, he only had it 4 or 5 months, traded it in for a Ferrari. I think he is a lot happier now.

maseratis are straight sport luxury cars, expensive, smooth, sound great, but way too slow. Even being partnered with Ferrari, they're made to be slow. LOL. F power!

Yep. And they depreciate like craaaaaazy. A lightly used 08-09 Maserati is worth half as much as when it was new.

No point...you'll walk the challenger. I've played with a few of them...none of them are ready for what happens.

Ran into this thread while reading up on those Granturismos.....sick cars for the money. They are GT cruisers, not track cars though

Definetely a car that you drive for the look and sounds and not for the blistering speed that's for sure.
