Here's my best run today. Today was 45, 33 dew point, 30.2 inches - but it was damp and humid after the quick rain. 5 mph headwind? But definitely lower on power. Oddly enough, in the 40s, the car is happier hot lapping than cooling.

Any idea what the DA was yesterday?

I actually beat my buddy's MPH, his best was 12.35@111.5 to my 12.37@112.4. Either way I'm happy. I'll PM you an idea I had for your car.

I don't think yesterdays DA was so good. Today was 45 degrees, same pressure at 30.2 inches, and dew point was 30 degrees. Essentially the same DA as yesterday but the car ran .1 faster today! (it was sunny). ONLY PROBLEM. I had 65-75% tank full of gasoline!!!! AND, I missed the really cool morning air by 2 hours so I got there at -300 DA today instead of -800!!! I figured they'd open late again like yesterday and they were already open for two hours by the time I got there!!!! Does that mean I might have done an 11.90 today? Possibly... but so close. I really think next time it's high 30s and sunny, Cayman's 2 year old record is going to fall!

BTW, my best 1/8 speed today was 94.27 mph!!!! Did a dozen runs, here are my best 6:

FWIW, as a comparison, a 2007 M5 stock was trapping 114/115 mph.

Awesome 60's !!!!!! With launches like that, it has really improved your 1/8th mile. Now you just need even better DA and some tailwind and you'll be bringing down my old record. I have a feeling now I may end up back on the drag strip this year after all trying to hold onto my title.

I honestly think our trap speed is off this year at the strip. In the previous runs 2 years ago, I've ran 90 at the 1/8th and almost 116 at the trap. This year I'm 93-94 but only trapping 116. I think I'm actually convinced I'm 118-119 (my Vbox actually read 119.3 at my fastest run today). The trap speed is supposed to be the last 66 feet of the quarter and I highly doubt I'm doing 113-119 in the last 66 feet.

As a matter of fact, I'm getting my "BEEP" To shift from 4th to 5th gear way before the quarter mile is up... and Actually about to hit redline as I cross the finish line.

I'm not making excuses, but there is definitely something off with the trap speed at GLD this year. For me to be 4 mph faster at the 1/8 and only 1/2 mile faster at the 1/4 is clearly indicating that somebody screwed up calibration/measuring the actual trap since 2 years ago. LOL. It doesn't really matter - the ET is accurate though. This would mean even with the extra 50 horses and lighter weight, I'm actually slower in the second half of the race? Car definitely doesn't think so and neither do I.

Respectfully, I think the timing gear at GLD is okay, I was there a bunch this year with my car and my friends outlaw radial car running a class...

Then it was off 2 years ago. LOL. Hey, next time I go, I'm going to run the last 200 feet at exactly 60 mph verified by VBOX. and if the trap speed says 60 mph, then you are right and if it says 58 mph, than I'm right. Trap speed is last 66 feet so I should have plenty of time to stabilize my speed by the end of the run. Scientific testting... Next Saturday - I hope we have good DA.

PSJ, check out my #s from 2 years ago before the exhaust:

I'm 3 mph faster at the 1/8, but only 1/2 mph faster at the 1/4. Something is going on here... Today was practically no headwind.

Dunno, I don't know much about your cars I'm still just impressed to see you go 12.0 with headers, catback, drag radials and weight reduction.

Just speculating, could also be that you need more gear?

No, don't do that Caymandive... You retired from drag racing! At least let me keep the record for a year (if I even get another shot). It's supposed to rain next weekend, so then on the weekend after that, Wisconsin might have their first snow and I'm screwed. LOL

It was cool that you could join me! I think the headers were probably helping me 1/4 second and the other 1/4 second was probably the wheels, rotors, and battery. It's amazing how consistent the cars are from one F to another F.

That was actually the first time I ran with another F ever in 5 years! Good times. We need to get a group going though.
