theres definitely a slight sound diff... im not sure if your F is stock? mine is completely stock so i notice the slightest sound differences... i think with the tube itself and stock filter it may not...but after i put in the AFE i noticed a deeper tone with a more responsive throttle... not to mention the tube doesnt really get hot..i heard the joez gets really hot after

Since the air resonator is removed with these type of intake pipes, compared to the OEM piece...
And yes, you are correct the "Joe Z" gets hot after you turn off the car, get out, and then go touch it...
Keep in mind, everthing else metal in the engine bay gets very hot as well...
Especially the intake throttle body..
While the engine is ON and the car is moving, the air inside the intake pipe is through there is less than a blink of an eye...
So nothing to be concerned about..

P.S. - I might start sending out another sticker with the unit..
= After you stop driving and turn off the motor...!!!
