right after a fill-up, the fuel gauge is not moving at all.. it takes good 2-3 minutes to respond. just wondering if this has happened to anyone..

That's odd, how many miles do you have on your F? This shouldn't be happening on a fairly new car like this, take it to the dealer. My 98 integra does this, but doesn't take 2-3 min, more like 30-60 sec

So if you were at a 1/4 tank and fill up...it stays at a 1/4 take for a couple minutes and then swings toward Full? Mine pings over to the right immediately (08 w/ 57k).

Sounds like the fuel level sensor is dying a slow death. I would just mention it the next time you have to go to a dealer...it should be a warranty item.

Default Smoothing?

Never noticed it but, then, never really cared. It might be a designed-in "feature" known in software circles as "smoothing". Imagine how you'd feel if in high-G turn with gas sloshing around the tank and the guage trying to follow the fuel level as it went up and down. They could be slowing the movement of the needle on purpose.
