I totally agree. My suggestion is hanging on to your $4500 car until you have more cash to put down on the car.

Just another thing to consider . . . make sure you look into insurance and gas expenses? Both are more on an F. Remember . . . NOBODY needs an ISF or any $40k+ car. But they are fun to have if you can comfortably afford it and won't have to stress about putting a roof over your head or food on the table.

Couple things to think about...like some have said.
1) insurance
2) maintenance -- it gets EXPENSIVE if you go with OEM parts, oil changes if you do it yourself is 10 quarts at 54 bucks (walmart mobil 1 full syn, 6 bucks for an oil filter), OEM brake discs @ 300 each disc, 300 front or rear pads. It could be cheaper, give or take 20/30 bucks, nothing to really make a true difference. Tires if you buy high performance tires will cost you $1200-$1500. I run Bridgestone RE-11s....excellent tires.
But....don't mind me, I'm young and really dumb...i pay almost $1500 a month, 4.95% interest @ 48 months with $0 down and bought my car brand new. Sure, I could have gotten another car...but in this price range, nothing beats the performance and QUALITY (any german car doesn't count)

To tell you guys the truth I payed my 08 isf 40,000 w/o tax with 7800 miles on clock.
Ya.. It was basically a steal, but mine is totaled To the OP it seems like u r making a
big jump from ur old 4500 car to an isf and just the fact that you are asking an about 45000 worth
investment on a forum is not a good idea. So, go out there, and try to find a better deal cause it is out there for another steal gl haha

If feel like you may be over extending yourself a bit, you should either get a cheaper car, or keep yours for a bt. Maybe an is350? Personally i will be applying for a loan in the upcoming months for an 06 gs300. The car is older, but i have a 10k down payment and will pay the remaining amount over time (which won't be much). Maybe you should just get your down payment up a little more and it should help a substantial amount.

^ lol those poor cats i know huh?!?!
in all reality it all depends on everyones pocket book and how much bread it holds!
to some one like donald trump $1500 a month is nothing!! to me its a decent chunk lol and if you have a $4500 dollar car now jumping to a car thats 10x's more expensive is a big jump... i say save up a few more pennies and get back at them next year and they will be even cheaper by then..

::sigh:: don't remind me....I've been thinking about what car to get next 6 months ago...1st gen E30 M3, 1st gen E28 M5, S2000 (AP1), NSX, E92 M3 coupe, early 70s BMW 2800 coupe, Porsche Cayman S, all used of course...NEVER going to buy another new car...expensive as hell.
UGH, what I keep TRYING to tell myself is I should buy nothing and save money, so that in 2 years when i'm 30, I can buy myself a 911 GT3 (used), for my birthday.
Back on topic though...everyone is right. If you even have to THINK about how much your car payment should be, you might not be in the best financial situation to do it, OR, something in your mind is making you think twice which means...THINK TWICE! I wish I did...LOL. I can afford it, but usually when I tell people how much i pay people go
