Finally I did the first mod to my new ISF... a JoeZ intake! I know many guys in here were waiting for me to sell my blue JoeZ because I was trying to get a black one (I received plenty of PMs), thing is it was impossible to find someone willing to trade, and the two that were on sale during the past month were sold locally. I decided to do something that I had on my mind for years and that would solve the color issue... wrap the intake. The end result was perfect! It looks awesome, and it'll help to keep the intake tube a little bit cooler. I used titanium wrap, picture taken right after the install today:
just kidding! I'm glad you found a solution for the Intake
I just have to wait to order the blue one now hahaha

So how's the pipe temp after the wrap? Can you touch it?

Juan: did you do a before and after touch test to see if your wrap helped?

Why not just read IAT from the ECM? It will tell you instantly if there's a measurable difference.

^^ Not sure what minimal difference's you will see...
The air flowing inside the pipe is NEVER stagnant.. It's there less than a blink of en eye..
Especially at WOT..!!
There are plenty of things you shouldn't touch after driving & parking in the engine bay.. (not just the intake pipe)
The throttle body would another one of those things... The list is very long..

OK, I have some info for you guys. When I switched the OEM intake with the wrapped JoeZ pipe last weekend, I let the car cool down for half an hour. At that time the engine bay was still hot and the OEM intake pipe was hot to the touch. Today I opened the hood up as soon as I got home from the office, so no cool down time. Needless to say the engine bay was VERY hot, but the wrapped pipe was just a bit more than warm, comfortable enough to place my palm in full on it and not get burnt. So the titanium wrap is doing its job.
Hey Danny, you have the OEM pipe, right? Let's meet up some day and I'll take accurate temperature to both intakes.
