Default Isf steering wheel removal

I purchased a new steering wheel and im going to try the diy. I saw the sewell video but I saw he didn't disconnect the battery(safety step missed in my mind). I have read also that once disconnected you should step on the brake for 90 seconds. Is this acurate? Can any one give me any tips. Looks straight forward but you know how that goes... My main concern is the air bag going off. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Yes to be safe , disconnect the battery and step on the brake ... Also need 10mm socket to open nut. and small flat head screw driver to disconnect the air bag wires, yellow and red. Dont forget the T30 torque screw , i used my screw gun to do all that.. Take your time and u can use your knees to lock the steering wheel when unlock the 10mm screw. Lastly , making sure your steering wheel is straight before tighten
