Default Window Tint Opinions

Alright, so I'm finally getting my windows tinted on my silver 2011 with black interior. I want 5% tint all around with the exception of the windshield.

1) Do you think this will be too dark with dark interior? I had a 2010 Acura with beige interior with 5% and it was perfect.

2) Which film would you go with? The shop I've found that I want to use has Solar Guard Ultra Performance.

Any regrets or comments on your own tinting experience with your ISF would be appreciated. Thanks guys! I can't wait to see my car when its done. I hate everyone staring at me lol.

- Pictures would be great too!

I have Silver with Black Int and mine are 15% all around (no front) and it's PLENTY dark, for me. I have no idea what film it is... I drop it off at my guy I've been using for years and tell him to go for it. My dad has an eye condition called "photo-phobia" where his eyes are super sensitive to the sunlight so his car is tinted 15% all around, including the front and I HATE to drive his car at night or in the rain...can't see ******.

Well, living in Vegas, it never rains here . It was hard seeing out at night at times with the 5% on my previous car, but its so worth it with the heat and sun here during the day

Seeing that you are in NV I would stick with 5% due to the heat... I have 20% on mine and visibility out my windows at night is a bit limited. I went with 3M window film... cost me a grip but was worth it and I have a lifetime warranty.

Here's a good picture for you to judge... the first F (left) has factory tint, mine (middle) has 20%, third F (right) has no tint.

^ No, it's not an illusion there are 3 blue F's! ^

Whoa! Overload of blue ISF's lol. I just hate with 20% how you can still see the people inside. I want complete privacy. What do you mean by factory tint? Thanks for the pics!

I'm not sure what % the factory tint is, but that's how my friend's 2011 F came from the factory. With 5% tint we're talkin Limo tint, which means visibility at night will be quite low looking out, IMO. I doubt anyone will be able to look in, so you will have privacy.

Factory Tint usually means the Dealership of where you purchased the car has a contract with someone locally, aka, "legal tint" for whatever your State considers legal.

I think 5% is rather dark, especially on dark interiors. But it does look great, no matter which color.

There are a few good brands to choose from. huper optik is one that comes to mind, but it isn't cheap. It really depends if u want a dark tint %, max uv protection, or a mix of both.

Complete privacy is what law enforcement doesn't want (or need), right? Here in VA you'd be pulled over in a New York Minute if it was that dark. And, yes, what is factory tint? My glass as delivered from the factory doesn't pass as much light as clear glass so there must be some level of tint.
