I F'ed Up :)
People say they'd take the GTR in a heartbeat but I would not take the chance on spending that much money for a car that has had transmission issues, that just scares me. Even if it occurs in a few GTR's would you really want to take that much of a monetary risk? Not to mention the whopping maintenance costs.
Here's a tentative "Welcome Home".
you can't go wrong with either car of course and I sure miss my F, but assuming you find a GT-R that has has well documented maintenance and records on if the car has been launched, etc. (and the dealer has performed the necessary launch control updates), I wouldn't be afraid to buy a clean 09 GT-R. With that said, I still bought a 2010 and if you shop around, there are some '10's out there for decent prices. Regardless, good luck and congrats on buying 1 of 2 awesome cars!
Maybe just save up a little for a 2010 GTR so you dont need to worry about the launches?
Wow, I was just looking them up on Cars.com. Theres like 15 scam listings from "individual sellers" out of the total 89 listings. 5k miles for $25k.. LOL I'll take two!

Glad to hear that youll be getting an F again, Im sure that you will do another superb job on it as you did with your last one. Although I am a little dissapointed that you wont be getting the GTR.....
Dude, as much as the GTR sounds like an awesome car (which in many aspects is), you understand perfectly well why the GTR is not worth it. The way I have always felt about the GTR is, "if your going to pay close to $90k on a car, you better get $90k service with it!" Quite frankly, the horror stories I have heard and experienced with Nissan dealerships, cars, and their corporate are enough to steer me away from Nissan all together. The ISF is the best of both world! You get an awesome car, with lots of luxury, bullet-proof reliability, and best of all THE SERVICE at Lexus is second to NONE! Try taking a GTR with a busted transmission to a Nissan dealership and see what type of service that $90k GTR got you....ppfffft!!! You might be better off waiting for the new GS-F (if there will be on announced soon) or the new BMW M3 (twin turbo). Overall, good decision on not getting the GTR!
