W210 E55 beats a Lexus IS-F?
Don't think so, but it's good for a laugh, posted at the mbworld.org kill stories section:
Fwiw, I own a CLS55 AMG and I think he's full of it. His is the old style, non-supercharged AMG, which had 349 hp stock, i.e. not even close to an IS-F in performance, even if you add an exhaust and a pulley to it!
Anyway, I'm a proud member of the mbworld stamp-out-the-BS crew, and we usually chase bozos like him off by challenging him to replicate his amazing feat, which is what brought me here: if anyone would like to meet this guy at a 1/4 mile strip and smoke him, let me know and I'll invite him...in the event he's actually dumb enough to show and doesn't slink off and hide in the woodwork, it'd be hilarious to watch!
The e55 is my dd and I drive it about 30 miles to work and 30 miles back. Had a real long work week and was leaving my friends house last nite. So I then decided to do a little bit of spirited driving that nite lol. I hit the freeway and did a few nice pulls to remind me why I love this car. Nothing WOT but just enough to feel the power with the high revs. As I'm getting off the exit I see a black ISF getting ready to go on the highway, so of course I follow him. I catch up to him and we do a few pulls. We go from 50mph after 3 honks and I thrash him lol. I brake to let him catch up and then we do it again except from 80mph. Smashed him again hit about 150 before I brake to let him catch up. We rolled once more at 60, same outcome. I was def feeling good knowing that my 10year old car still has it. Btw my car is not stock.

I wish he were in TX, that'd make it easy! But he's clear up in Ohio, too far to drive for moi...don't know what it is about that forum, we get some real tall tales in there, but makes life entertaining every so often. A few of us take special delight in calling out BS claims like this one and smacking those guys around, it's a weakness.

well i don't know about the horse power on the regular E55, but couple weeks ago, i went to the local race track to see my friend's tracks their car's, and one of my friend's has 05 E55 AMG, and his slightly mod like headers and ecu tuned, and his E55 AMG did 12.5@120.5 mph, and his friend E55 AMG with stock did 12.8@118, and there was one 2011 ISF did 13.5@105 mph I think the race that ISF didn't know how to drive

As always, the nut behind the wheel is the most critical part of any car. Just because you've got Schumacher's car doesn't mean he couldn't thrash you in something far less capable.
Might be one of those F drivers who doesn't push the last bit on the kickdown switch so the car never gets full throttle. I fixed mine so it isn't so hard or annoying.

But yeah, that's a very low trap and slow ET for an IS-F, maybe he was doing somehing (or more likely several things) dumb like shifting manually and not doing it very well either, go figure...or maybe he just filled up with 80 octane before hitting the strip, sounds like something was wrong with it at any rate (maybe just the nut behind the wheel).
What part of Ohio are you in?

Anything can happen on the streets! If results are always expected, why even bother, right? he he.. With that said, I like the idea that you are calling out people who might be BSing or being ignorant. It seems like those forums can use more of that! Props.

Hey, maybe that's the guy who ran him!! He's in Ohio as well, wouldn't that be odd...talk about the ultimate "small world" scenario.

Hey improvez, if that E55 car was the grey, that could be him, because that day I went to the race, there were three E55 AMGs, two grey and one black, my friend has the grey one and his was the fastest out of that three E55 his trap was 12.5@120.8, his friend E55 has big subwoffer in the trunk and ran 12.8@118, and the black E55 12.5@115, it was impress me when I saw that I think that E55 was heavy, but it was fast too and I believe it beat the F easy

That's why the raised eyebrows; I had a CLK55 (same motor as his car and lighter) prior to getting the CLS, and I'm here to tell you, there's no comp. No way those earlier models would hang with a properly driven, properly running IS-F without spray, blower, or a full HP engine rebuild.

That's what we were thinking, he probably mis-ID'd it, unless there was something either seriously wrong with it or it had the dumbest driver on the planet behind the wheel....

Yeah something's definitely out of whack with that time/trap. Well, maybe he got lucky and ran into this guy, I guess if so he'll learn a valuable lesson once he comes up against one which is running well/has a driver who knows what he's doing!
