2012 ISF Consolidated Changes - US, OZ, including press releases
So I was reading one of my many car magazines that I subscribe to and while reading the latest issue (I forgot which one but the featured article was a run down of all 2012 models), I noticed that the magazine said the 2012 ISF would come with 265/35-19 rear tires.
The magazine didn't report anything else so I'm not sure if there is and they just didn't know there were other changes or if there really is only this one change.
Nice to know that it's now a little wider to better handle the torque.
Still hoping one day to be able to get into an ISF.

I really doubt Lexus will change the headlight design because of one bubbling defect issue. It's a supplier issue that will probably be replaced for those who are experiencing the problem. It's a heat & paint adhering issue.

Seriously 225/40/19 is a joke to me, I think 245/35 F and 265/35 R is a good combination, considering IS-F's competitor M3 has been using this combo for years, I don't see why new IS-F isn't going to match? Again, just my wild guess on the 2012 model...

It seems that by only increasing the rear and not the front too, Lexus is trying to dial in more understeer unless they also plan on making some further suspension adjustments to the my2012 to balance this out.
I'm on the fence with those TRD wheels. It seems to be too many spokes but they do seemed to be machined to the minimum weight so they do seem to be high quality.

Don't really bother with the TRD club version, it just reminds me Lexus might need to consider a change in OEM tire sizes...

2012 wont be a facelift or any major change..including the tire specs. This generation IS is on its way out anyway as Gen 3 IS is on the horizon. It wouldn't make sense to spend more money to change something for just one year. Its not Toyota's philosophy to do it.
Lexus goes with conservative with wheel/tire fitments mainly to meet their criteria for mileage, noise and comfort. Sure IS F is not your typical Lexus but the IS F is a very quiet car and fairly fuel efficient in comparison to the others.

^^ As history begins to repeat itself (11 year Lexus IS owner here), you tend to understand the Brands dynamic.
So yeah no surpise that the incoming 2012 IS-F or any IS's will get no changes or refreshes this time around.
As the 2nd Gen IS's are indeed starting the last year of their 7 year cycle.
You just have to start looking forward for the 3rd Gen - 2013 IS (+IS-F), which we might start seeing info on within the next 6-9 months...
As I am quite sure some test mules are in the works as we type this..
The headlight issue is not a major issue to fix...
It's a cost to Lexus, which I am sure they will push down to there headlight manufacturer.
