and the overflow plug that i didnt use honestly yet, but will do really soon. the word "CHECK" is engraved on it, so am sure its the overflow plug
the shop am dealing with doesnt have a techstream nor any manual for this car, so thats why i came to the forums asking for help.
am thinking in common sense right now, since the tranny breather was spurting fluid out of the breather then all i need to do is start engine reach tranny to working temp then open up the overflow plug and close once fluid trickles?
Your common sense sounds correct - yes the over flow plug (with check written on it) not the drain plug.
A CAN/OBD2 code reader will not work you will require a full diagnostic scan tool with the correct software to enable fluid temperature detection mode
Techstream is the Toyota propriatory software diagnostic tool and will work with the cheat code to put the vehicle into a fluid temperature detection mode. You will have trouble doing this outside of a dealership.
This diagnostic tool will be in the neighborhood of 2K - 10K and are usually made by OTC - Genisys / or Snap-on - Ethos and even then, may not have the correct software.
Why don't you send me your E-mail in a PM, and I will send you the entire procedure Via E-mail as laid out by Lexus. Its way too much work to post up.
Here is the WS fluid service interval (LifeTime) recommendation from lexus for the IS F
