Default Navigation

If you go into the preferences. You can add or delete options. Private roads, ferry's and toll roads.

Mine had me taking the shortest routes. Even if it meant taking the exit off the highway. Drive down a side street for 1/2 mile. Then get back on the highway.

Also a new update helped as well. My old disc had me going around a road that was already completed. The new disc showed the road done.

Save your bucks, order the car NAV free and buy go fast(er) stuff with the money you save
I guess I'm just proactive. I always buy cars loaded, most importantly, the navigation option. Why? B/c of resale value and who knows, it might be what gets my car sold compare to another F without the navigation or some other nice option. I guess it's the extra "bells and whistle" that seals the deal at time of resale. Also, a 65K lexus without nav is just being too petty, if your motivation is to save $.

And I do agree, the nav is horrible, but it can be usable at times.

I can't get the navigation to respond directions, usually it remains very quiet. It will tell me to proceed to the highlighted area to begin, but once I get on the road, it i silent. i pushed the (voice) button on the map but the navigation doesn't say anything, it just shows the street address at the top for few seconds and then disappears.

My BMW navigatiob gave me voice turn by turn dirctions, dont know how to make the Lexus do the same. This is nice so your constantly updated on where you are going.

sounds like you have your set to off. you can adjust the volume of the navigation voice. take a look at the manual to adjust it.

I fixed my problem, for some strange reason my disk had a weird black smudge on it, I cleaned it and now it responds like new without being slow and freezing and giving me crazy directions.
