Default Timing Chain Longevity?

Many cars have a timing BELT that needs replacing every 60 or 70,000 miles. I know the IS F has a timing CHAIN and was wondering if this would need replacing in the first 100,000 or maybe 150,000 or 200,000 miles? Nothing lasts forever and this would be an expensive proposition. Just a thought. Anyone know what the recommendation is?

To my knowledge there is no interval for changing a timing CHAIN.

From Toyota's FAQ
http://www.toyota.com/help/faqs/serv...ing_chain.html

"For Timing Chain and Gears, there are no prescribed replacement intervals; these components should be replaced as needed."

A decent roller chain in an oil mist environment has an absurd service life. A cheap chain, or those old school Hy-Vo chains they used to use in bikes wear out like nothing. Considering the ECM is setting cam timing with VVT, the normal chain wear issues are even less of a problem.

I'd wait a pretty long time before I worried about the timing chains.
