I just received my order of front and rear Bobcat pads. Did I make a mistake by ordering them? What kind of issues will I experience with the current iteration?
Inspect them carefully. There should be no pad material on the lower edge below the backing plate. The top of the pad material when installed should have about 2mm of disc face showing. Current iterations have 4mm or so which leaves a pretty large unused band at the outer edge of the disc.
Your pads may be OK, you just need to compare them to your OEM pads to be sure they're going to work right. If they're not right, send them back to Carbotech.
^^^ They are not. Sure there is no dust and for just casual driving they're fine, but if you drive hard and/or like to go to the track (and I'm talking about drag strip, not even road course) you'll notice that they fade quickly.
Yeah I'm not tracking the car or anything so I'm not too worried about fade as much. I use the car for spirited drives. Next time I'll look into the Bobcats or a different set of Hawk pads, unless I can sell these Hawk Ceramics and get something else.
