Inspect them carefully. There should be no pad material on the lower edge below the backing plate. The top of the pad material when installed should have about 2mm of disc face showing. Current iterations have 4mm or so which leaves a pretty large unused band at the outer edge of the disc.

Your pads may be OK, you just need to compare them to your OEM pads to be sure they're going to work right. If they're not right, send them back to Carbotech.

Yeah I'm not tracking the car or anything so I'm not too worried about fade as much. I use the car for spirited drives. Next time I'll look into the Bobcats or a different set of Hawk pads, unless I can sell these Hawk Ceramics and get something else.
