Puff of blue smoke upon start up?

Puff of blue smoke upon start up?
I have just over 3000 miles on my new IS-F. Ever since I bought it brand new off the show room floor, it has occassionally blown a puff of blue smoke upon a cold start. I've always burned Shell V-Power premium, so I don't think it's poor gas. Does anybody else have their F to do this from time to time?

Most likely a little (more) oil getting into the cylinders past rings that are still seating.
Probably nothing to worry about but tell the service department just to record the issue in the unlikely event that it gets excessive.

Yeah, the puff of blue smoke is coming out of the exhaust right after start up from an overnight/cold start.
I am thinking along with ISFer. I'm hoping it's just the seats. Maybe there's just a little more break in left.
I'm going to mention it to the service guys when I take it in for the free 5000 mile service.

As someone mentioned before it "could" be rings. I've seen this often on other engines and it's been the valve stem seals that are leaking allowing a small amount of oil to slowly pool in the combustion chamber that gets burnt off at startup. If valve seals, it WON'T go away as the engine breaks in.

Kinda doubt its the rings. But it could be.
The blue smoke is oil, and toyota supra's are known to do this because of the valve stems going bad. Your car though has way to little mileage to do that. If it never goes away after break in then thats what it could be. That would probably be a costly repair on the ISF and you need to for sure document it so toyota doesnt try to stick it to you.

I was telling my dad about this. He has a 1998 GS400. He said that his does that a lot after he washes it and starts it up the next morning. He thinks it has something to do with spraying off the exhaust tips and getting water in the exhaust. His GS has over 100K miles and still runs strong. The last time I noticed mine doing this, I had driven it through rain. So maybe it does have something to do with water in the exhaust. In any case, I'll definitely get it documented at the dealer.

Update
I just wanted to update everyone. I noticed that the smoke was actually more of a light white color that blue. I mentioned this to the dealer at my 5000 service. They couldn't imagine anything since I bought it brand new. They recommended to try different brands of gas first. So far, I've tried Exxon Supreme, Shell V-Power Premium, and Valero Premium and the F still blows a puff of white smoke upon a cold start. I guess my next step is to have the dealer run diagnostics on it? Or should I just forget about it?

Mine has never done this. I'd have the dealer look into it. It might be a bad valve stem seal, and you'd really want this to be addressed as quickly as possible to prevent damaging the catalytic converters.
