Default Bummed Out

so i went to the dragstrip last night and i was very upset with the results...i drove the car there (2hour trip) and let the car sit there for about 20-30 minutes before i fired it back up again and went to the staging lane. waited about 10 minutes in the staging lane and then roll up turn traction control off via the hold the button method, and turn on sport and my throttle controller on sp3. spin the tires a little and then stage, i hold the car at about 1800-2000 rpm and wait for the tree to go green and i go....R/T .322 60' 2.130 and my final 1/4 mile time 13.260 at 106 mph. I have the joe z exhaust intake drop in filter and toms throttle controller, WHAT am i doing wrong? i ran the car 5 times and by then it major heat soaked and i was all over the place with 13.3, 13.4, 13.5, 13.7 left (traction control on)and my original 13.2. I used manual mode for all runs and i shifted when i heard the beep....let me know what you guys think and what i am doing wrong...also i had a half tank of gas.

You're doing nothing wrong. It is what it is.

It might just be the track and your DA. But i am surprised that your times started to diminish run after run. I have over 10 times in a row without even shutting the car off and my times were very consistent. Their could be a possibility that the throttle control was hindering you but im not an expert in that area.

Do you know what times other F's have done at the same track?

For the isx50, I don't think that's true for IS-F.

Ive been to the track 3 times and my best runs came from launching in D drive ( holding brake with no rev) 12.86 was my best time. Normaly in M drive i would run between 13.00 and 13.40. Im Completly Stock by the way.

I'd agree with DA and the track. Paddle shifting is the way to go, and either method of disabling T/C should be fine. I've even had some luck with hitting the upshift paddle late into the beep.

The last time I went was to HRP in January. Ran twice with unremarkable results, then some dude dumped parts and fluid all down the track, so I was able to let the car cool for a good hour or more.

I pushed the car through the lines up to where I was fourth or fifth from staging. There was one bar on the temp gauge when I cranked it. By the time I rolled up to my lane, there were two bars.

Skipped the water box and went around. Power braked for maybe five seconds and just got into second gear.

Staged and held it at about 2K until I saw the third yellow light...then GO!

.476 R/T was not great. 2.135 @ the 60' wasn't great either. 12.87 @ 111.98 was OK though.

At first when I launched, it felt like the worst spinning ever. Since they'd just finished prepping the track and putting down fresh VHT, the car really hooked up and even bogged at about 15' from the line though...

Before that run, my times had also been in the low 13s. The other differences this night were the 275 Nitto Invos on the rear and the Joe Z exhaust. I had half a tank of 93 octane. Seems like the car weighed 3850 with me in it, but I could be mistaken and didn't write it down...

I had to piece all three time slips together in order to scan a clean copy of the header info.

I dunno man - I think I won't bother to go back unless I get a pair of slicks or DRs.

Your 60' was pretty ugly. I usually hit around a 2.0 second 60' and would be in the 12.6-12.8 range. Remember what they say, .1 in the 60', is "equal" to .2 in the quarter. Concentrate on your lauches and your times in the quarter will get better. Especially in a paddle shift car like the ISF.
