I would be upset also, but you probably misread your milage.
If he drove it hard for 50 miles, that's up to 2-3 gallons of gas. He would have to spend 6-10 dollars just to match your original tank reading--that's a few tips from several customers, with the risk of crashing your car or getting a ticket if he was driving fast. Possible, but not likely.

Wow, came across this thread. Sorry for your situation...it sucks because you probably feel "taken" like anyone would in your situation.
Valet is fine just have a hidden camera come on for the interior when the car is off. Maybe $1K for a NICE setup, not a bad investment for a $50K+ car.

This is what I was referring to earlier. I have the Escort Entourage which was $285 on Amazon. The Zoombak would work too although it isn't as precise but is only $99.

my friend has the Entourage in her M5, and she loves it. she had an unfortunate encounter with valet in which the guy took it and drove it around the block or something. needless to say, the valet driver got a ticket for tinted front windows. the ticket clearly showed where the vehicle was at that point, and the restaurant where she dined at was a good mile or so away. its not really the distance that bothered her, but rather the lack of respect. she knew valet people might do some WOT's but this particular restaurant didnt have self parking slots available. the valet ended up paying the ticket as well as being fired for "getting caught". if it weren't for that ticket, my friend probably would not need the gps tracking device.

You can also set up move alerts and zones, to get it to automatically ping you when it moves or when it goes off premises. I have zones setup for my office, my condo building, and one of my friend's buildings where Valet is the only option. I have a few other zones too (parent's house, girlfriends house, etc.).

Sorry to hear, but like others mentioned, it just seems unlikely that he would spend so much effort to match those mileage stats (Which is very very hard to do). So maybe you just mis-read the trip meter this time. As long as there is no damage on the car and it's running fine, I wouldn't sweat it. Just make sure you don't valet next time. I make it a point to NEVER valet my car and I don't think it's unrealistic because there is usually an alternate option, even if it's far away. I frequent the West LA area so I'd know.
With that said, I have to admit that there was one time that I was kinda forced into valeting the car because I had a friend with me and someone was waiting for us at the restaurant. So I didn't want to be rude and inconsiderate about it. But I made sure that the valet parked it up front and made a big fuss about it so he knew to not mess with it.

When I do have to valet, when they're about to get in i take a picture of the odometer right in front of them, and watch them drive off. You never know what people can do. My friend got his car valet parked and found money missing when he came back and it looked like his stuff had been looked through. I wonder if someone has ever given the valet the keys and watched them park the car? I should try that next time.
