How much do these hinder light transmission? They look cool, but I'm constantly hauling my kids around and don't want to do anything to make my car more likely to not be seen. Mercury Metallic apparently blends well with the pavement in my area based on the close calls I've already had.

I am thinking with my Mercury Metallic , I'm gonna go with the 50% Steel. Just because our car is light already I don't want to go extremely dark on the lights!

I'm considering this too....I'm getting my new emblems in soon and am thinking about tinting the taillights (at the very least the rear reflectors). Keep us updated on what you decide to do

Ok Great, I think I'm going to order them this weekend from:

Technically, its neither...

It comes it different size rolls of 17mm thick colored 3M Film...

The same stuff they use for clear bra, which is clear polyurethane film.
