Default keyless remote

hey guys i was thinking if my remote was to die on me and i didnt have a replacement battery on hand i would have to use the key inside the keyless remote to open the door. i have tried but the damn key just wont go in the slot. i didnt want to man handle the key to go in, cause i didnt want to accidently loose control and scratch the car or break the key itself. I swear it wont go in, the passenger side too.

also since you use the keyless to start the car, with a dead battery will the car not start?

I'm not sure about the door key issue, but in the manual there is something about how to start the car if the remote is dead. If i remember correctly you hold the Lexus emblem on the key fob in front of the start button and then the car will start.

Yeah thats correct. There's an RFID chip in the smart key... So if it dies you can still start the car.

Your comment is correct, that's how you start the car if the key fob ran out of battery.

Now for the key you have to try harder, I've used it plenty of times on the driver's door as well as the trunk.

For your key, it should work in the driver's side door only. You would need to pop off the cover to expose the key cylinder. If I recall there's no hidden key cylinder on the passenger front?

That's correct. All you would need to do is put the keyfob near the PUSH START button, once the green light comes on, you can start it up.

I take it you haven't read your owners manual yet? Are we talking about your IS F here or something else?
