Apparently IS-Evo is still in production.

First Spy Pics! Lexus IS-F Evolution, Code: 182A

Along with the still video images taken of the LF-A recently, these Lexus IS-F Evolution spy pics (or what one source claims is the “IS-R”) are a welcome addition showing that the IS-F Evolution is nearing the end of its 150KG weight loss program.

We’ve posted articles on the IS-F Evolution before [1] [2] stating that the hood, roof, front and rear fenders/bumpers and trunk lid would be made of carbon fiber to eliminate up to 150KG in weight and now we can also add visual confirmation of a rear wing to that list, as well as very supportive carbon backed Recaro seats. A proper Torsen LSD and revised suspension to offer a firmer ride over standard have also been confirmed and the images show what are possibly production ready examples of the BBS alloy wheels to be included in the IS-F Evolution package.

With the spy shots comes the news that the development code name for the IS-F Evolution is 182A! It’s obvious that the IS-F Evolution’s code name is very similar to the Toyota/Subaru “086A” compact sports car and we assume that the LF-A and the Prius-based hybrid coupe also have similar designations although there has been no mention of the codes for these cars thus far. Japan’s New Model Magazine X also say that locally delivered examples of the “IS-R” (a working title for the car) or 182A will include a Nissan GT-R-like GPS activated speed limiter cut when the car is in the vicinity of a circuit. This feature will apply to Japanese models and not for export versions as far as we know.

The 182A IS-F Evolution is expected to go on sale in August 2010 at a price between 12,000,000 and 15,000,000 JPY (US$128,000 - 160,000) which might put some people at ease who were shocked at previous rumors of a US$250,000 price tag.

For $20-25k I can add a twin turbo, do some serious weight reduction and add carbon ceramic brakes. For the price this thing will probably cost I can have in upwards of 600 hp... I don't know why they're even thinking about this, it won't sell.

sounds like the same argument about the GTR specV. I can upgrade a regular ISF for way less. This will probably be a japan only car if ever produced. Also they will mess with the GS-F if they produce this too. There are so many things Toyota should focus on rather than wasting time on this, Like producing a real sports car instead of more SUV types.

Guys' it must be a misprint, NO WAY it's 180k and if somehow by miracle Lexus makes this car for a MSRP of $180k no one will buy it!

My buddy and I were chatting the other day and he showed me on the Hawaii Craigslist a beautiful white F430 with white interior, low miles for a "mere" $175k

In this economy anything over $150k will buy you pretty much ANY car you want short of a CGT or Enzo. Lexus already has their LF-A coming out so why would they make this car????

I say FALSE advertising for sure

I predicted it would debut at the Tokyo show......

So glad to see continued investment in the IS-F!

If they are actually developing new body parts and maybe performance parts they should simply release them as F-Sport accessories for the IS-F and call it a day.

i don't get it toyota is starting to sell these expensive cars while does not offer significant advantages over some of it's competitors. the price for IS F Revolution is just ridiculous, no one with the right mind would buy a stock IS F with only 300 pounds weight reduction while the price is raised for 180,000 !!!!!!!???????? isn't that the price of a upcoming stock Lexus LF-A???????? also, for the LF-A ! it is a supercar YES i agree to that !!! but is it that significantly faster and better than the nissan GTR? somewhat not really......!!! but is it significantly more expensive? HELLS YEAH..... i don't get why toyota is trying to sell their cars so overpriced

How much more is the F430 scuderia compared to the normal f430, how much more is the superleggera compared to the regular gallardo? then you can see how it will get quickly overpriced for limited production serie

I'd guess it'll be 20-30k more than the IS-F.

And if it was 180k, that does sound crazy expensive, but then again you do see factory cars like the M3 CSL costing crazy amounts more than a stock one.
