Is This IS-F a CL member?
Isn't his run time a little slow for his set up compared to caymandive's stock run time?

.............caymans 12.38 at 115 was not stock (DR's) and was in the best possible weather/conditions one could ever ask for. 12.5-12.8 is the norm!

Infineon Raceway 4/16/09 ISF drag times
Here are my numbers car 131 full tank 91 octane.
Only corvettes and non stockers beat my numbers that evening.
There was a new CLS63 (still no plates) could not break below 13's.
Conditions had lots of head wind.
run #1 fully automatic spot mode
run #2 fully manual all electronics off shifting at redl line

1SICKLEX,
Could you set up a thread where we could place all of the dyno runs that various members have made. If each entry could contain information such as what modifications had been made prior to the dyno runs, etc. they could all be in one place.
When I try finding houtonT's runs, juanca's runs, Toy's runs, etc., I have to go bak through numerous threads (sometimes through several hundred posts) to find them. We might want to make a similar thread for drag times (similar to over on Tundra Solutions) where all drag times could be posted in one location.
What does the group think?
Pat

I'm curious, but why are so many of you guys going to a drag strip with so much fuel!?
8speed the reason his trap speeds are so low correlate with the excess weight. At first I thought maybe there could have been a strong head wind, but I checked and there was 11+ mph tail wind. The DA for the 6:09pm run was also a good -303ft. With some more practice and less fuel isfrun should be clicking off some 113+mph speeds.
Edit: 91 octane will yield less power so maybe throw in a few gallons of unleaded race fuel to bring the octane up a bit.

how high can the octane go
It's 1.5 hour drive to the track so I filled up before I left home but was getting 23 miles/gallon so was still full when I got there - learned for next time.
Noticed at the track gas station they were selling 100+ octane and some even higher maybe over 115 from one pump. Not sure what would be good for the ISF engine that I dare try next time.

Mine, like I said, was due to an unexpected day at the track and I had fuelled up earlier in the day
(Also, if I hit a wall or something I want to make sure to go out in style. Flames and all)

Good to see you guys are at the track. The 100 - 104 octane gas at the track should be fine, but avoid the 110+ like the plague, it is most likely heavily leaded.

Just so you guys know, drag radials don't really improve the stock time very much. My best with drag radials has only yielded 1.94 60' times while street tires (RE050) has gotten me as low as 1.90 60' times. Our cars tend to bog down instead of slipping a little at start up at the drag strip with drag tires. Only real advantage is that you're not burning up expensive 400 dollar PS2s vs. "cheap" drag radials that go for like 200 bucks a piece.

Isn't there a law of diminishing returns with higher octane? I mean a stock IS-F is tuned for a certain octane range from what, 91-93? So why would bumping it up to let's say 95 increase performance? Wouldn't 93 be optimal?
