Dealer offered to sell me IS-F for 1700...
...plus my S5. I just stopped by yesterday to check the car out in person and I was really impressed. I am a previous 350 owner and the front end looks way better. I was just curious how much they would give for my S5 and the salesman wrote me an email today saying that I would be paying 1700 plus taxes . It doesn;t seem like a bad deal at all, in fact it seems like an awesome deal so I'm wondering if they made a mistake. My car;s MSRP was 58k and change and the IS-F they have is 61k. Maybe they are taking some off the sticker seeing that they have multiple IS-Fs in stock.

correct
I love the S5, but it just doesn't deliver in the power department. It's just a tad faster than the IS 350 (0-60 in 4.8 vs 5.1, 1/4 in 13.2 vs 13.5). I really think they should have gave it at least 375-380 hp.
I financed it, so if I do trade for an IS-F it will be used to pay off my loan and then the car.

I know it will be much better, but I'm not sure if they made a mistake because if I pay just 1700 plus taxes thats a extremely good deal. I'm assuming something was a mistake.

I doubt he would write a price he won't honor. I honestly think the S5 is gorgeous and has a stunning interior, but it honestly isn't that fast. I test drove the IS-F this weekend right after driving a 350 and it was night and day difference. The gearbox is amazing, (for what it is at least), and it has a mean growl. With 0-60 times around 4.3 seconds I think it will definitely offer more of that power you are looking for.
1700 sounds like a great deal if you are sure you need more power.
Good luck!

Can somebody help me out with the numbers here. I'm a little confused. Here's the breakdown of my situation:
My car's MSRP was around 58,000
I traded in my IS 350 for 28,500
I paid 10,000 down
So the balance was 19,500
I paid two payments of 700
They are willing to give me a IS-F for just 1,700 plus taxes and my S5 of which they will pay off the rest of the loan
Am I missing something here, its seems like I'm hardly losing anything. I feel I'm actually gaining since my car has 3,500 miles and is 3 months old.
