I'd wait until at least August. They'll be discounting by then with the way the economy is headed, but if the dollar slides against the yen the way it did right after Clinton took office we'll see ugly prices ahead. I remember the Supra base TT being $39600 in 1993 and $47000 in 1995 because the dollar was in the tank then too.

Went to Putnam Lexus last week and saw 3 IS-F there..no markup and test drove the so-called special "ripoff" edition one and wasn't very impressed..well, back to pricing but no markup period and this is the bay area..

jim falk lexus is bunch of bad and shady sales, don't even make me bring up stories with them

if you take the picture and report to lexus, they are going to be in trouble. market adjustment (aka markup) is strictly prohibited by lexus

Here's what I got back:

Dear Mr. Jobin:

Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. In circumstances that require our attention, we will assist in the resolution process.

The vehicle price information listed on lexus.com is used as a point of reference. Lexus does provide Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price information for new vehicles, however, during the sales process, the actual vehicle selling price could be higher or lower than what is listed. Lexus dealers do have the power to set prices on the vehicle they sell since they are independently owned and operated. As educated consumers, Lexus recommends customers compare prices and check with other dealerships to make sure you are getting a price you feel comfortable with. Be assured that we have documented your comments here at our national headquarters. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

If you require further assistance, please respond to this e-mail, or contact Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, or Saturday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Pacific Time.

Sincerely,

Joshua Northrup

Wow, Jim Falk is bold!
Usually dealers hide markup via $6k rims, $2k Lojack, $500 pinstripe, etc.

While each dealer is independantly owned and operated, Lexus does discourage gouging and it will be noted if they want any "favors" from corporate in the future.

That must cover the first engine replacement.

LOL - Just kidding (sort of). I had a 2002 M3 and there was a rash of blown engines. Fortunately, mine didn't blow, but did have to take it in for a couple of engine work recalls.
